I'm not quite sure this is the most appropriate place for this, but it seems to be correct. Apologies in advance if it is not.

 

Anyways, to my question: what are the best ways to keep a user interested during cooldowns? Do you have any modules that you've implemented to keep a user playing for longer durations of time?

 

My thoughts for good time "wasters":

-Casino games

-Chat Rooms

 

Those are really the only few I can think of right at the moment, but I'm curious to hear others' thoughts.

The mechanic you're referring to is called "sinks".

Gambling games are good timesinks (and moneysinks, which helps with game economy), but usually real-time chats and forums are a good timesink with the added benefit of adding to the community.

Crafting, mining, other minor things, timed training (click upon done for receive, would mostly click while during cool down).

I think gambling games hurt the economy
