mrhat187
Are you only able to setup 1 time charges? I would like to do a 1 time setup fee followed by a monthly maintenance fee.

mrhat187
Sorry, so in the premium section, I would like to do more than just a one time charge, I would like it to setup a recurring charge. Also on a recurring charge would it be possible to send a player some gold or something every month?
a_bertrand
How do you plan to create a recurring billing ? I mean you want to use the paypal recurring billing? Well I must admit I never did it and honestly I don't think it's a good idea. Much better to have some sort of premium membership where you have to pay each month or so to keep it, and this membership offers some advantages. a_bertrand
Exactly why as player I would not do it, and many would think the same.
KyleMassacre
Exactly why as player I would not do it, and many would think the same. You know I cant argue with thats as a player of a game, i have never done it nor will i. But for the hardcore gamers out there it is a nice luxury to have if they are willing to foot the bill every now and then. Either way you look at it, it has its ups and downs
a_bertrand
Well then, feel free to implement it. I'm personally not interested in it, nor think it's a good practice, therefore I will not invest time on finding how that would work with paypal. gmoore
Reoccuring billing can be a problem. Gamers are notorious for declining charges (and costing you money). One time, One Fee, They Don't Come Busting For Thee. Lol
W3Theory || Peter
One way of making people go for the recurring monthly membership would to give it some extra benefits than the regular monthly membership. I see games do this and players buy into it and use it all the time. I don't think it's a terrible idea, it's just a different style of business practice. I would say it doesn't hurt to add it. Someone
I see it as trickery when that is done. Some does it sure, I personally don't like that practice. Funny story, I bought a subscription for a software, 100$ (might been 150 )something a month, I stopped using it, and forgot about it. This new year I went thorough my papyal transactions, it has been deducting that amount for 2 years. This story tells more about my money management skills than anything else, funny though :) would not been that funny had the software still not made my money back over the years even though I did not use it. Razor42
Iv seen plenty of games successfully implement monthly memberships, you've just got to make them worth it! Also don't drop the option of having one time payments for certain things
gmoore
Remember charge backs can make your profits tank. Just my opinion. G
