Its initial programming and content was done over a 13 month period and has been active for over a year now. I did the majority of that work myself. Items, images, npc images, weapons. Modifications of which there are many.

As for putting in money to my hobby which is what I consider it is. I am a successful business man to be able to do that. Its called investing in your venture which is why Zu has returned more than invested in its first year and is still continuing to grow.

I confirm this, he's currently pulling his hair out over a Joomla script he wants, ps: it's Mark'I tattoo hawt girls all day'Foster, get it right...

Now lets stop insulting and get back to constructive criticism please.

it its foolish of you to judge a game that has had a day or two worth of work done on it compared to that.

I find it interesting you keep mentioning having to fix up all the code, fix up the bugs as there is not many in McCodes 2.0.3 I think the only one to crop up so far is the staff_special which has been discussed and resolved. So what exactly are you using a downloaded copy of 2.0.2?

Well done for doing a whois on my domain so you can post my real name. Which I dont mind btw otherwise I would hide my whois info.

You was the one that started the topic. If you cannot take the criticism dont post until you have something decent to show. You say your a graphic designer when clearly your not. You believe you have a unique theme for your game but you do not.

Want to talk about zu then I can tell you.

Did you not ask for testers? And feedback?

Anyways you should be greatful for what Rulerofzu is telling you... I couldn't have said it any better myself...

You just dont install mccodes and call it done... I never mention your images but they aren't what you would expect from a real graphic designer, who does them frequently... You said text games has no fun in them at all... Then what makes you want to create one? If you hold that opinion greatly and don't see eye to eye with your players your game will head into a major FAIL, it's happened to a lot of games, with owners not caring about the game itself but how much they can earn from installing the codes... Most all your players is going to know mccodes when they see them, and they aren't going to stick around playing if nothing is different... If that were the case they can easily go to the demo mccode site and play the demo game and get the same enjoyment... just saying...

Please no flaming. On both sides.

The who is info on a domain is the normal way to handle... the possibility to hide those are just tricks to avoid spam but honestly I don't think those are good practices.

On the other side, I can tell you that from my own experience, having an engine ready is already a good piece of work done, however to come from an engine to a game is still a long story. For example, on the game I'm currently working, I would say most of the engine is done, at least for a start, and now I'm working on the quests / plots. You know how much work just this is? It may take me still a couple of months just to have my first quests in! So do expect to invest time on a game, no matter how good the engine is.

Beside content, other works like testing, documentation, templates, marketing are also huge time consumers.

Thats what I'm saying, yes I asked for feedback. FEEDBACK, CONSTRUCTIVE, PRODUCTIVE, not over compensating dick-wagging. I obviously care about a game if I've put more than 4-5 hours out of my days for last couple days. I have a life? I can't commit 24/7, thats what co admins are for. LOTS OF UPDATES though by the way guys, some new mods you may or may not have seen. external non mccode php.

As if you could put a price on my work, that **** is priceless. I don't waste time.

Now I am starting to feel like you are missing the whole point of making a game and you seem a stuck up with some of these comment. Just to say you did 4-5 hours (in a couple of days) is nothing. I been working on a game for overall three months. A game creator needs passion to want to create a game and make it different, needs the drive to want it to be one of the top games. If not then it simply will just start to fall apart and there are to many games out there like that.

Bah I'm still trying to finish mine, and this was a good few years ago...

Yes, hmm that was a rather pretentious comment, wouldn't you think? (Oh darn I went all British again.)

To be honest, you're not going to get good feedback if you are asking for input on a game you spent less than a week on. You should really spend about a few months, and get a good idea running and develop/design around that, and then open for suggestions. A lot of people come in here and ask for comments and suggestions for their game, and they have a half-ass site with a very basic UI, not well thought out game structure, story or content, and it just looks and feels like every other new (mafia style) game out there.

With your attitude "how much fun can a text based game really be?", It seems like you're making this game for the money rather than for the experience, knowledge, practice and fun. Not a good sign.

You clearly need to learn to read then, 4-5 hours out of each day for last couple days. I have passion for what I do, I just so happen to also have a life. Hard work being a complete nerd and overly popular at the same time. *shrugs* Guess it could be considered a gift AND a curse.

I posted already because of the add-ons, rewards, bonus differences, its all in the additional external scripting. I've added non mccodes mods and tweaked mccodes mods, it was all in matter of days, so yes the first day it wasn't all that great. but now theres a lot more going on.

Never mind. Not worth the time.

Well, I tried out your game.

Besides being ridiculously slow (took 2 mins to load a page, if it even loaded), The interface is barely changed from the default. You have a few mods in there, but nothing that really distinguishes your game from any other, and in terms of storyline/content, there is nothing really that distinguish it from the barebones game engine. There is a lot more to criticize, but I will leave it at that. As I said before, you should really customize your game, both in UI and content/story before you come on here asking for opinions and feedback. A few days work, albeit many hours spent each, is not even close to enough.

Also, lose the cocky attitude, you're not impressing anyone.

I can't put a timeframe onto how long I have been reading about people asking for feedback for their games, but I must admit this is a new one. To summarise what I have read over the last 5 pages: Unique game, no. Unique attitude, yes.

Let me elaborate, you are the only person I have ever seen taking helpful suggestions and turning them around to make them sound like insults. Zu, DJK, Peter, Diesl, lucky et al should be commended on their patience. Your arrogance disgusts me. It is absolutely shocking that you would be running your script for ONE DAY, ask for feedback, then be offended at help. Newsflash for you mate, we all have lives. 99% of the members on this site are here to learn and collaborate from one another, and do that because online gaming is a hobby. Many have jobs, or study, in areas outside of computing, for sure. You are not alone there, so stop acting like it.

The MCCodes script is supposed to be a straight out-of-the-box ENGINE, not GAME. If they sold it as a ready to go game, how many identical games would be available online?

As for your game, there really is nothing to do. Why didn't you make an account as a player, then see for yourself was there enough to keep players hooked in between energy/nerve regeneration. If you got bored immediately, you could see from this that your game wasn't ready to be released yet. If you were wise, you'd take the game down, or work really fast, to get this to a standard to get players hooked.

Given your earlier attitude about the games not being fun, and hinting that you were only in it for the money, I can see this didn't occur to you.

Also, you need to secure your game before you put it online. I just got into one of the admin accounts. This could be fatal, as you/that admin, could be using that password for everything, and with the email address that was registered, I could be checking out paypal accounts/email accounts everything.

If this is a legal version of MCCodes, I believe you are allowed to patch to v2.0.3 for free to secure the site for you. If it is not legal, I suggest you remove the site now before you get yourself into trouble.

I speak for myself here, and maybe Zu & Peter also, we're not patient, we'll help you once but if you turn around and start getting cheeky (take this topic for example), or just plain stupid, we won't bother wasting our time to help you again.

I think it has something to do with, if you show us respect, we'll do the same. If not then basically sod you.

Here's a tip to the topic poster, we all have attitudes at times, yet if you seriously want our help, keep your pretentious remarks to yourself and be polite, otherwise you'll get no where, I cannot imagine anyone wanting to play a game with an arrogant owner...

I do now understand why he has a picture of Mr Rude as his Avatar though.

point out to me the parts that were actually productive/helpful and not pointing out the obvious? beta testing is a long process, thats all I was asking for, bug reporting etc. you want to talk cocky, listen to your selves! sorry to disappoint you in the fact that i do have a life and haven't spent every second in the last couple days on this, otherwise yes perhaps id be a bit farther along. but guess what? its not a fucking race, there are tons of things that are way more important. if you don't have anything remotely productive or constructive to say keep it to yourselves. you all feel the need to play captain obvious and its really starting to make me question the intelligence of you folks.

I only give respect to those that deserve it, I've found most of you to be snarky and condescending, you not so much kanna, no problems with you yet. I guess the others just feel intimidated? If we extrapolate my time frame and results over the last couple days and stretch it out over a couple months, Ill be giving these kids a run for their money. Basic human psychology I suppose.
