Something in your script is stalling it from loading... And just out of curiosity why did you add beta version 1.0 then your copyright mark in your logo? Should keep the copyright at the bottom... Nothing done differently like Anthony has said nothing "fun" is there... You just installed mccodes made a login and logo.. didnt really code anything in there that i can tell from... Quote

McCodes is a base engine you should work on your theme, what the players are going to be able to do and how they can interact, play, communicate with each other. This is just as Lucky mentioned. You uploaded mccodes changed the logo and login page and thats about it. Its beyond dull. Quote

daftrude Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 well i mean there can't be much more to it than that, i can add many more features but its still the same idea either way, if people aren't into this type of game, there is only so much more i can do to hook them, especially when im more a flash/graphic design person than programming coder. my knowledge is limited, especially when everything i know is self taught. If you just release the site like that, you will only get a couple of members who will die off. However, take finalcrusader.com that me and Dave put together. It has unique ideas in there that brought in a good sufficient amount of members, but was made on the same engine as yours. My point is, there is never a cap to the capabilities. Maybe you will have to work harder and take more time, but never go into it saying there isn't much more you can do. Now if your speciality is designs then focus more on the design part and bring more color and "beauty" to the site. Rulerofzu is also right on the fact that we pretty much all self taught are selves. Just do NOT leave it as is... be creative... If your looking to just make money fast off the engine its not going to work you need to put work into it, and not other peoples work either... a player knows when you have worked hard, it shows on what you give them in return for their effort in playing your game... daftrude Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 lmao, funny you should say that, no one here has been much help at all, i ended up working through all the bugs myself. i would like to know if there are anymore i'm not aware of but other than that i don't need help, just speeds up the process of trial and error. since most of my time in the last day or 2 now that i've been working on this has been focussed on the internals, youre right i havent put anything into the graphics. but since they are most important, ive saved the best for last. you can get off your high horse now mark foster. oh college kids, im willing to bet you put little to no effort into your site, what you put in was money, that doesn't give you any right to talk down to people doing the whole thing solo, free of cost. rulerofzu Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I find it interesting you keep mentioning having to fix up all the code, fix up the bugs as there is not many in McCodes 2.0.3 I think the only one to crop up so far is the staff_special which has been discussed and resolved. So what exactly are you using a downloaded copy of 2.0.2? Well done for doing a whois on my domain so you can post my real name. Which I dont mind btw otherwise I would hide my whois info. You was the one that started the topic. If you cannot take the criticism dont post until you have something decent to show. You say your a graphic designer when clearly your not. You believe you have a unique theme for your game but you do not. Want to talk about zu then I can tell you. Its initial programming and content was done over a 13 month period and has been active for over a year now. I did the majority of that work myself. Items, images, npc images, weapons. Modifications of which there are many. As for putting in money to my hobby which is what I consider it is. I am a successful business man to be able to do that. Its called investing in your venture which is why Zu has returned more than invested in its first year and is still continuing to grow. Quote
