seanybob Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 If the traffic has no incentive ties, I'd drop $125 for 100,000 hits for my new site. It's game oriented - but not a game itself. Quote
Dave Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I would most likely be interested in being a victim :). Quote
Sarunas Pranevicius Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I am surprised several people volunteered to test this. Personally from experience I learn that most "guaranteed traffic" schemes are not effective at all. I mean I am not saying that this particular scheme will only bring in fake hits, popup, popunder and proxy based traffic, but even if you do send real people, I still think the quality of this traffic will be very poor, as they are most likely offered cash incentives to view your page, which means that they have to do several pages to earn their income - since they get paid for every page they view, your site is barely seen before they move on onto the next website. I cant see this traffic being high quality, and I doubt it will yield registrations, and more importantly sales. For good traffic, that is worth the money, I would say PPC advertisements are the best choice, where an advertisement is placed in popular search engines and you only pay when someone who makes a search inquiry clicks on the advert. Which in results means you are paying for highly targeted traffic because people clicking on your link are truly interested in the content of your website. I am building a website masters community, and I will be interested in this if somehow you can prove to me that it is genuine. I feel that if this is indeed legitimate you will be able to give me some sort of direction to how you achieve these hits. If you are adamant that you are going to use proprietary methods, and say that they are secretive and you cannot reveal, I wont be doing it as it is too much of a gamble for me. I am sure several people feel this is slightly mysterious and proprietary. Would you be able to do something along the lines of this; Get me the hits for my website, and if at least get 0.25% of the people to register and post I will pay. I am prepared to pay more if you get me anything above 1%. I feel this is a fair offer, so PM me if you want to take it further. Also would it be able for me to get a basic summary on the concept before putting my money upfront? I hope this is a genuine offer. Quote
a_bertrand Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 PPC are not as good as you may think. Even if, in theory, you would get people which are interested by your product (based on the advertisement you do), in practice it doesn't. From my own experience Google advert is extremely expensive compared to other networks. And most search engine or general purpose network give the same kind of results. Also, if you pay per impressions instead of clicks, there is some hidden effect which is the fact your site get known, even if people don't click on the banner. On the issue of "forced" people, indeed you may have some traffic which is not initially interested, but they may discover something new, and that will produce actually, maybe, better results than the traditional system. I don't do 'incentivized' traffic. Sure, it's cheap, but those aren't the kind of people I'm looking for. Also, if you pay per impressions instead of clicks, there is some hidden effect which is the fact your site get known, even if people don't click on the banner. Indeed. Although, you could pay for clicks (but really being desiring the impressions). I've used Adwords for that in the past - got hundreds of thousands impressions for the price of a couple clicks. 'Course, after a while my ad stopped being shown... Bertrand, curious if you have any recommendations for PPI advertisers (not Google). I've used Adbrite in the past, but wasn't really satisfied.
