Lithium Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Those of you that have online sites, please help out on this survey, as i would like to know how the general hosting companies are going on the updates, and towards a few features that i would like to demonstrate, though usefull only if most hostings run certain versions! a_bertrand Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Re: MySQL Version Well I'm running on Cent OS 5 and it means MySQL 5.0.45 as default. I don't run after latest versions myself, more about stability and security ;) Quote

I don't run after latest versions myself, more about stability and security ;) Agree with you on that, but as for MySQL, version 5.1 is out for... over 3 years now? Currently on v5.1.32 (stable/production) if i'm not mistaken and v6.0 out for 2 years (though development stages only). And yes, version 5.1 as proven to be as stable and secure as it should be expected. :) Quote
a_bertrand Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Re: MySQL Version Well I should state that instead of upgrading and installing a package myself I tend to use what those server distribution offers, so that I'm sure I'm up to date with security patch without being subscribed to a huge amount of security lists. So, if Cent OS do offer MySQL 5, then fine I keep it :-D Quote
