Re: Invite members to your gang [$10] [v2] I went ahead and built one of these using the free one as a base. I'm hoping the players like it. *edit* wasnt my attention to bash on his mod especially since i wasnt offering my version up. However his response is rather unfriendly.

Re: Tips to owning a game I guess i should have clarified how i have mine set up. Admins are owner or creator only. Never EVER put anyone you dont trust as an admin. Admin shouldnt play because they are admin and should be involved in daily running, monitoring, adding to the game. Tbh i would think there would be no real need for more admin than just who owns/run the game. Everyone else can fall into the moderator/assistant (or secretary) categories. Game staff after admin is a bit different and set up with different levels of access, with none of them involving player editing. A couple would have the ability to give items (we have things for birthdays/etc) and these are all logged. You do not have some random person just become staff. To me you should only have a staff of people you trust. Game mods/assistants play the game. They usually (and ideally) enjoy the game and like interacting with players. But they represent the game and should always remember that when dealing with players. The best games i have played have had staff completely seperate than players. As a player and an owner i have seen how just the appearance of favoritism and staff "cheating" can change a game. Making it known that admins are not players at all clears up the fact that they will not sit at the top of any of the game categories. That being said, HD is right about players wanting staff to be interactive with them. There are multiple ways to do that.

Re: Tips to owning a game I have to disagree a bit with number 9. Admins imo should not "play". They should be there to manage the game and have access to almost everything. Anyone with any kind of game changing access should not be considered a player. There are ways to remove admins from stat rankings/hofs, etc. You can always set up player mods or regular game mods that can play but have no access to game changing features. In my opinion you want to not only avoid issues, but avoid the appearance of there ever being an issue with staff "cheating".

Looking to buy a full layout & register & login

Re: How good CronWerks/Cronus is IMO in a sale thread it should be limited to talk about the mod itself or questions about it. Any discussion like this or about what should be added could always be moved to a discussion thread. This is just my general thought on the matter and could help avoid arguments like this. And in my opinion for what the mod does (from reading about it) its well worth the 10$. If anyone wants to expand on it... its a relatively cheap investment. No need to actually complain about extras at that price. This is just my opinion so take it or leave it.

Re: not sure about this You should run a spell check on there. Several things are missing letters/turned around. Also, be very careful with changing user_level. A lot of things in the games are keyed on it so make sure during testing to replace or use the replace code that i believe is up in the free mods.

Re: [MCCODES v2] Job display in viewuser.php First of all :-D the game is purchased, working on a server that is at my workplace... All of my colleagues are playing this mmorpg and the game is online too... Secondly the game that i administrate is not for reselling is just for developing and make updates to it. :-D Thirdly the game didn`t fail and i don`t ask for help on this forums just because i don`t know "how to", (i`ve just need a little help on that variable) The Job rank is not displayed well because is running "LEFT JOIN `jobranks` AS `jr` ON(j.`jFIRST` = jr.`jrID`) ". Witch you all know is showing the first rank job from the job type... I`m not arguing with you all on nothing... i was just asking a help in oder to avoid the script being ruined. Regards to all, The point i have is that if you are going to run a game and make code changes its useful to know the basics of how to code.

Re: [MCCODES v2] Job display in viewuser.php I think you've completely miss-understood. It's not that people of CE don't want to give you help....You don't know a thing about what your doing or where you plan to go with it. You don't know the basics of HTML, PHP, Mysql and whatever, yet still, you jumped straight into a game for some cash. Then when your game fails, you'll come back here asking for help. I guess people are just used to this  Completely agree with this assessment.

Re: [Guide]MC Economy Lmao! Beat me to the post BD. Rainbow, there is some good advice there for sure. Eventually when we have a new engine put together, we'll be using some of those tactics. Now we rely on housing costs, fees, and capped interest to keep the economy growth at a relatively steady pace.

Re: [MCCODES v2] Job display in viewuser.php And crazyt i didnt want to just hand him the code since its just basic use of queries and such. He should take a bit of time and read up and at least learn the basics.
