the only chatroom with a main focus on web game development that I am aware of, is #php-games @ irc.ipocalypse.net which is our chatroom, you can get there by clicking chat at the top of the page, or by entering the correct parameters within your IRC client. I'm quite sure you'll find other rooms on the major networks like Quakenet, Freenode, ...

On topic or a closed topic, chose wisely :) BioHazard, CarevallA, ssssht. Not the place for such kinds of things. -
One that is not randomly thrown together for a quick buck. A true game, that has a storyline and features integrated into each other will go a lot further than a random mafia game thrown together. Mafia games are just popular around here because all engine offered here are currently well rather mafia styled. But there is a place for other type of games as well. Look at the war games, look at facebook... there is a huge market in game, you just need to work (hard) on it.

Who told you that? The exact release date isn't known, nor is there a preview :-P and neither are there any mods like v2's extensive list
-
Just a note: It seems that octarine is changing the code of the challenge on a per-chapter-basis. ie: only the points he mentioned here will be changed in the code, chapter 2 will bring more changes so you can actually see how things change and what's being added each time instead of throwing a whole lot of code at you ;)
-
still, look at the script, make it better in any possible way you can think of. C'mon spudinski, show us what you're worth! If it crosses your mind, add it to your list. And now I need to shut up before octarine kills me for spoiling much xD

look a little bit deeper, think of everything you can think of, also notice the word "flaws", it might mean more than a bug ... You should have some multiple of what you found ;)

I'm sorry for not replying any earlier, I thought I had. While the issue might be at the forum, I won't deny that, it just seems strange to me. Why? Because I use Firefox 9.0.1 on a W7, it displays it fine without any issues. Google chrome from v14, till 16.0.912.x on W7 work fine as well. Firefox 9.0.1 on Ubuntu 10.10 works fine as well, I haven't found any issues with my chrome installation just yet. Also, the syntax highlighter is purely JavaScript (http://alexgorbatchev.com/SyntaxHighlighter) It hasn't been changed since it was added. We've looked through it, but haven't found anything yet. If you have any idea, you can always contact me, but I still believe it's due to your browser (options / settings). So please, do explain why only 2 users seem to be effected while I haven't received any report yet by any other user?

Oh SRB please, you know well enough that this has nothing to do with dictatorship or freedom of speech. It's one of our key rules since ever and that's not changing. I know you like to be evil and jump every chance you have, and if you're right, you're right, but here it was to not give away any spoilers so everyone has a fair chance to make the test so no answers are just copied from the list. I would have done the same, and told every mod to do the same. If you have nothing to say about the topic, don't post in it. If you got an issue with anyone on staff, feel free to pm me.

my list ends at 29! It's actually a good test :D

Thread moved to partnerships. Good luck with your search!

Yes I understand you've done it this way, and the other checks you mention will indeed allow for multiple starter kits. What I was saying is to do it on register. A user can register only once, which means he can only get the pack once ;) and then it would just be a query to add the item. Kudos for trying. Kudos for coming up with something that actually works .
-
Why was an extra field added for this, in yet again, the users table? You could just add this line on the register page and give the user a starter item/kit there as well. Would only require one query, no extra field, and no continuous check on loggedin.php Otherwise, nice addition and simple addition :)
-
Quite stunning results if these would be true for the global board, but that can't be said after just 25 votes. I would have liked that more people posted what they voted and gave some more information though.

Thread was moved, that's why it now is in the correct place. The person who moved it didn't post it though

Upcoming patches for MCCodes released versions

PHP met an unexpected STRING value as it says. That's all we can say with that info. Provide MORE info if you wish us to solve it.... Like what did you change? What have you tried to do already? Post lines 105-115

Beta is a release status, doesn't really specify what version you run.
-
Yeah forgot about it too at first! Now lets hope nicholas' problem is solved ;]

mysql_query returns a resource id, it doesn't return an array filled with the details, so you must use mysql_fetch_array too. And yeah SomeRandomBastard, I agree with your method actually, I was just trying to point out that it could be done that way and make life easier here. After all, the itemid is hardcoded as well. @nicholas try this $sql = "SELECT * FROM inventory WHERE UserID='{$user['UserID']}' AND InvItemID = 23"; if (($result = mysql_query($sql)) == true) { $result = mysql_fetch_array($result); echo '<a href="ItemUse.php?ID='.$result['InvID'].'">Use Item: Jail Card</a>'; }
-
actually do you need all that information? From what I see now, all data you need, and are in fact using, can be found in the inventory table. Which means you could just use (correct me if I'm wrong here): $sql = "SELECT * FROM inventory WHERE UserID '{$user['userID']}' AND InvItemID = 23"; From this query you can take the InvID to be used with the itemuse.php page.
-
Yeah sorry about that, ignore my previous post. Apparently itemuse.php requires the inv_id value and not item_id value as I would have expected, seems rather strange honestly but that's the way it is. I don't see what's going wrong with the code here then. The $_GET['id'] has the value of the inv_id though, correct? Or what does it hold on the page? With the "this does not seem standard" I meant that it's not a part of the original mcc v2 script, right?

Glad I could help out :)
