If you take a payment from someone with paypal and they have funds on their paypal account, your account receives it instantly. They can always do a chargeback or whatever(in which case you would ban them obviously), but in general the payments are instant. If they pay with e-check paypal wont send the notification to your ipn script until AFTER the payment clears(3-5 days). Unless the IPN is set up in some sort of retarded way in which it INSTANTLY gives it to them without checking if the payment cleared(which would defeat the process of IPN?), a correct IPN system will credit as soon as your paypal account receives funds. Hope this clears things up.

Wouldn't use it because we could just set up payments to go straight to our paypal instead of having a middleman(you).

He forgot to mention it costs $250 instead of $50 to get the owners to install it for you. So yea I guess if you'd rather spend $250 than $65, you could do that. I would suggest buying the $129 if you have the money. That way there are no links to "CometChat" and it comes with a chat log. Hopefully there is a way to save ALL conversations so that staff can watch for spamming.

Just scanned over the installation guide. Should be pretty easy to convert to MCCode. If anyone needs help installing I will do it for you for $15, that makes this little chat feature a grand total of $65 investment. However it does look really good. The only problems I see are the friends list(which controls who each person sees online. If you would just like everyone, there is a simple function included. HOWEVER, if you would like people to be able to choose who they see online (creating their own friends lists) this would take a bit more, but still would be relatively simple. Also I would not advise allowing new players to use this feature as it would be an easy tool for spamming.

Hmmmm.... Started playing Torn City, someone showed me this new game that was in beta mode called monocountry. I joined up, got interested after finding dabs was only 14 and convinced him to give me a copy of the script(or at least part of it). And the rest is history I guess..

If you use anything other than paypal expect little to no donations. Paypal alternatives are possible, but most people don't want to sign up to a new payment site just to donate to a text rpg. Google Checkout would work, however I had a few issues with them in the past....

Actually the cronwerks system is standalone, I just post the mod descriptions in the forum and have a "Most Popular" tab. The actual system is outside the forum, as you can see when you click to buy something and it takes you to the cronwerks main site.   Hmm well I would gain nothing from "stealing your scripts", I don't even run a game currently lol If anything I would want your mods to sell a bunch so you would make/list more with me. But I get where you are coming from

There is still tons of money in MCCodes games. I believe DJKanna's amount of $20/month is VERY VERY low, according to my own experiences. Just make your game somewhat unique and be interactive with your players. But remember, you can't just get a small player base and live off of it, make sure you are constantly gaining new players.
