When you refer to "planes" do you mean vast expanses of land? If thats what you mean then you should correct the typo given the correct spelling is "plains". Keep up the good work. 🙂

Send @Sim a PM with your requirements, he has developed many mods and is currently seeking some coding work and he is a trusted coder on MWG.

Howdy, There are a number of different metrics available to determine a sites authority or strength but in this instance we are referring to Ahrefs Domain Rating or DR. Presently I am in a position to offer some highly effective link building that will see your sites DR increase to a minimum of 30 with a money back guarantee if this does not occur in a 30 day period. The links are permanent and Google safe including Adsense. The cost is $35 with keywords being taken from your website and if you'd like to explore this offer further, feel free to send me a PM. Regards ... CrazyElk.

I had the same issue after upgrading to GL V2.4.1 ... I have raised it with @KyleMassacre who took over Sim's mods and he suggested he is going to patch it.

Not sure about anyone else but I for one am glad ... well done! 🙂

Hello and Welcome, Your enthusiasm is commendable and you will likely need to maintain this momentum because commitment will be required given many games have come and gone after the initial warm feeling has faded. It is a big advantage to have some coding knowledge, even if its just being able to change a font size/weight/colour or change somethings position on a page. The ability to do this develops over time and an intensive crash course should certainly help but you should not expect to become an expert coder overnight. There are long term members of this site for example, who readily admit their coding efforts when they first started out fifteen years ago were very ordinary and so patience will be the key. That being said, you personally do not need to be an expert coder when there is so much help available from those who have acquired vast amounts of experience over a long period of time. There are many members here on MWG's who are available to provide their coding services to assist in developing your game and there are numerous platforms outside of this one offering similar services. Yes you will have to fork out some gold when using them but thats going to be part of the deal. Building a player/user base is the holy grail every webmaster strives for. You can have the prettiest site with the coolest features offering the most remarkable benefits to its users but if on-one visits the site its all for nought. Many factors are going to influence just who visits your site, things like your on and off page SEO, your sites position in the SERP's, is your game ergonomically and aesthetically pleasing, is it interesting enough that players want to keep returning, do you advertise it (paid and unpaid)? Organic traffic from search engines and word of mouth endorsements from other players will be the most valuable traffic source's but your going to have to convince these entities why you should be on the first search page for certain keywords and why a player should tell his mates about your game and invite them along to join in. Sooo, get your game right before anything else, look at it objectively from a third parties perspective and provide a compelling reason for players to want to keep returning and for new ones to visit. Along with that, recognise that the game is going to change/develop over time and that nothing should be locked in stone. Many of the big sites started with a basic script years ago that has evolved over time and your game also should have some degree of fluidity about it, keeping it fresh and interesting. As for purchasing an established game "in your budget", while you have not suggested what that budget is its likely to be not that much, making the old adage "you get what you pay for" completely relevant to the discussion. There are a couple of games presently for sale on Flippa but their prices begin at USD$1000 and they are fixer uppers to be sure but perhaps someone here can offer you something along the lines of what it is your seeking. There is lots to learn and lots to do and I wish you every success going forward. 🙂

@Suzanne Lafitte... sent you a PM.

Check the zip file to make sure that the actual module folder is not nested inside an empty folder, its possibly that.

@NewHustle... if your interested in helping out at https://crimecity.cc send me a PM. 🙂

Personally liking the idea of a re-vamped 'My Account' page but the other items all have merit.

I will have nothing more to say on the matter except this. The OP asked for suggestions and perhaps some help and what did he get and has he been seen recently, ummm no, likely afraid to say anything else for fear of more vicious lambasting, so kudos to all those that 'helped' him. As for cherry picking your comments @SRB, I could have written a book on the balance of your input ... so there's that huh. 🙂 I'm always for the underdog, when I see someone thats down and being kicked I am going to help that guy, thats my position. @Magictallguy ... the OP has done a runner, the content of the thread has become toxic, perhaps its time to lock it and move on.
-
Where someone who 'has done so much, for so many, over such a long period of time' advocates stealing another authors work to achieve an end and proudly announces attacking other peoples websites to the extent they took them offline ... well hog my jowls and enough said huh. 🙂
-
But it is a place where you get to denigrate others at your leisure, that right @SRB? 🙂

Sent you a PM.

While the template in the image above talks about a "fantasy crime web browser paid to click game" resolving the paidtoclick dot com URL see's it redirect to talkingcrypto dot io which is all about ummm, crypto. What am I missing or is this simply a bit of clickbait in order to funnel the punters to the crypto site?
-
H'mmm, no game here ... displays an image from which you can extrapolate a URL which in turn re-directs to a crypto site ... keep working on it. 😂

I believe this to be the only real solution going forward but it is a long road to hoe at the same time. I work in a support capacity for a company that has sold perhaps 1200 copies of a relatively complex piece of software and because there were numerous requests to translate it to something other than English the developers relented and offered that ability using principally those methods mentioned above by Magictallguy. Problem was/is that its a vast undertaking to offer the ability to translate every little text string that renders in English to another language and believe me, if EVERYTHING does not render in the new language then there WILL be a deluge of complaints and support requests the likes of which you have never seen before, and thats from the purchasers of the soft alone, forgetting about any input the end users (tens of thousands in this case) may wish to contribute. Someone going down this road may well open a can of worms they wish they had not. 🙂
-
@Lithium... I believe you misunderstand my comment, I'm not suggesting that Google Translate has not improved over time, it has. The salient point, is your advocating the use of this feature to facilitate a multi lingual site all the while suggesting it comes out less than good. Any webmaster with a forward facing presence on the WWW who is inherently happy with translations that "don't come out as bad as they used to" is saying to me their happy with something that "kinda" works as part of their efforts. I guess anyone developing a game that "kinda" works will be pleased to adopt it but I have to ask why develop along those lines, using a feature that by your own admission is presently, inherently flawed? Hence my tongue in cheek, somewhat facetious initial first remark. 🙂
-
Loving the "as bad as they used to" bit ... all sites need some of that I'm thinking. 😂
-
Quite right @Sim ... I have no desire for any further discourse with the other party. 🙂 Nowww, when will this scraper be ready?? Ummm, by the way @Sim, your diplomatic handling of what could be a potentially volatile situation certainly adds substance to your application to be a moderator here, you get my vote. 🙂
-
It appears from your above comments, that like your initial comments your simply wishing to be a tad combative and adopt an opposing posture just because you can. As for your "normally proved wrong" remark you should be aware, while I am not always right, I am NEVER wrong. 🙂 To use the phrase "it goes without saying" is most certainly NOT an assumption but rather its a 'gimme' locked in stone, your interpretation of my comments appears to be somewhat lacking and your reference to me replying like a "politician" is also relegated to the scrap heap given a politician says plenty but nothing at the same time. My comments are very specific and are directly related and composed relative to your own initial diatribe. In fact, I don't believe I have made any assumptions anywhere, except perhaps to assume you may be a democrat. 😂 Forgive the political jibe, its not something I generally espouse on a forum such as this however you did open the door. Sorry about hijacking your thread @Sim but I'm still in the market for your traffic scraper if you decide to build one.

It should go without saying, that generating traffic is always going to be about the targeted kind given the points you raise are Webmaster 101. In terms of someone clicking the X or the bounce rate, every site experiences that and while an optimal bounce rate would be in the 25% to 40% range this still means considerable surfers are indeed clicking the X prematurely even on a site with those admirable statistics. 200,000 accounts are not going to be generated if someone who has no interest in games wanders by a gaming site, they will click the X on the landing page having realised its not for them without ever going to the trouble of registering an account, but I'm thinking if we did generate 200,000 accounts and if even 1% of those individuals were active, (which is 2000) then I would cop that any day without believing such a site was 'absolutely trash'. I have used Facebook Ads many times with good results and by definition claim that it not expensive, although someone else's idea of what that means may differ to mine. Having said that, paid advertising via differing mediums is the go to for the majority of business's online and off, huge budgets are allocated and provided there are returns on investment (spend $1000 and make $5000) then this practice will continue. I am reminded of the business owner whose business was doing poorly, with nary a sale to be had. In frustration he turned to his manager and said "business is rubbish and we are not seeing any customers, its a good thing we didn't waste any money on advertising this month". 🙂 As for Sim's proposal, it revolves around "bots and scrapers" as I understand it, so its unlikely you'd implement this on eBay or Gumtree for example but rather target/scrape those sites having a beneficial effect to someones game site. Build it @Sim and I will buy a copy!
-
Traffic is every webmasters holy grail @Sim, bypass the middleman and do away with the wiki idea and simply go with your "I Will/would end up creating some type of Bot to generate traffic." idea. I will buy a copy the moment you release it, along with just about anyone who operates a website ... you will be worth a fortune crazy quick. 🙂
-
I like and support the concept @Sim however a site like that WILL require considerable promotion in and of itself, to generate the volumes of traffic that will then ultimately navigate to the various games sites and thereby benefit those games. Organic traffic via search engines will appear to be be the most cost effective however LOTS of stuff will need to be done (SEO on page and off, link building, promotion both paid and unpaid etc, which all come with their own costs) before any first page rankings will be offered by said search engines. If you have the time and commitment to take on a project like this then I say 'go for it" but just a domain name, hosting and a script won't, in my opinion give you the results that would be necessary to make this successful.
