    ATM keypad

    many thanks ;)

    ATM keypad

Here is my proposal for the keypad. It's not a picture it's a rendered image all self done, so no worries for the copyrights ;) You will have however to redo the image map to fit the image if you want to use this one. Feedback welcome.
  3. I would tend to say it all depends what you want to make. Some things simply cannot be done without JS. Now if it's just to make some "nice" effects stay away as it is not useful, but if you tell me you want to make a 2D or 3D world with live updates, then good luck without Javascript.
  4. I tired it and don't like it...
  5. Don't know ruler, some times ago I saw an article about a "compiler" for PHP which was actually producing C code which could be then truly compiled. One of those was used at facebook, as they where facing (of course) performance issues. Now, why would you use PHP at first? Simply because your old code was? Maybe it's time to re-develop a new version of your site if you are facing such issues and PHP doesn't handle it anymore. For the PHP 6 argument you gave, yes could be something, but honestly I don't know how much they will be able to squeeze out more performances, I mean, it's the whole concept which doesn't work and not simply a parser, so you would need to change quiet radically the architecture to be able to get more performances out of PHP. And I doubt this would fit most users needs. Companies which require high performances don't use PHP already, therefore remains only the medium to small business which normally don't face the issue.
  6. And two more videos with recoil, the interesting part here is that handles the chain elements correctly, the chain do not break and elements follow each others. Better than expected. Slow motion due to the fact I wanted to see really the motion ;) Second video, was a fun test, to see if the ball would follow the path and rotate. Maybe I didn't set the friction high enough:
  7. And now a similar test with Modo 501 and recoil (a plugin which does hard body simulations within Modo)
  8. Yes but I would not personally use it. Would be much smarter to jump directly in ASP.NET and use the tools it offers.
  9. well I don't know your code, so I can't help more than that... sorry... you must go through it and understand it ;)
  10. Hi, As I work for a Gov. Research institute, I have access to educational software and therefore have access to all Autodesk software... for free. Which is kinda cool. Softimage is a little 3000$ the first year and about 1000$ per year later on. No way I will spend that much just to play with a software. Anyhow, I wanted to test a few things as many described softimage as one of the coolest complete 3D software out there. To test things I don't have in the current packages I tried the hard body simulation, which is all the simulations of objects which doesn't deform. Like metal balls bouncing, or snooker games etc... I wanted to check also how quick it is, and how the render perform, without tweaking it a lot. Here is a first trial after 2 days training myself (not full time ;) )
  11. Yes, you may try to change it to method='post' but you need also to change all the $_GET['something'] in $_POST['something'] for the things you pass in hidden fields or whatever.... Try and let us know how it goes.
  12. As said you use GET, which does request 2x... So you either need to have a "transaction" id passed and accept only one click for that transaction, or change the actions to POST and solve your issue.
  13. Check if you use POST for those which do things only once, and GET method for the others which occur twice... if the answer is yes, then read again what I wrote above ;)
  14. Try to ask MDShare to give you back the money...
  15. This could be also due to browser caching mechanism which ask first the server if a page has been modified and then ask for the page itself. So basically for one click you could get 2x a request... and therefore doing twice what the user asked.
  16. That's plain cheap... how many hours of work do you think it will take you? 2 hours? Less?
  17. Well yes and no. Flash primary objective is to have vectoriel animations, and movies. The coding has been introduced somewhat later on and is more or less like a Javascript. Even if you can do a lot, I must say that for a programer point of view it is sub-par. Silverlight took the inverse road which was to offer a complete object oriented approach, with a huge library under. It is mainly thought for programmers with a designer available (which I never really used). It is really like 2 different products even if at the end of the day you can nearly make the same things with one or the other. If you are more of the artist kind, then flash may be better for you, where if you are more the coder kind or want to be able to have a more complex / complete approach silverlight would be the solution. Silverlight is mainly used for business applications... at least currently.
  18. Silverlight 5 has been released with tons of changes, some which can really show huge potential. Too bad it doesn't work on Linux. http://www.silverlight.net/learn/overview/what%27s-new-in-silverlight-5
  19. Wrote an article about how to start modeling an object. This should not be related much to any software, and can be done with Blender without problems (I did it). You can view the page at http://makewebgames.io/content.php/149-Introduction-to-3D-modeling Comments / feedback / requests are welcome
  20. Wrong section and follow the template...
  21. It is not cheap... and... what kind of guarantee do you have? I mean who knows you? Why should somebody trust you enough to use you as hosting? For the price, you find cheaper.... http://www.lunarpages.com/web-hosting/basic-hosting/ for example... Also I don't believe in "unlimited" bandwidth anymore, as all those which offer it either simply fail to offer a good service, or kick you out as soon as you really start to use it.
  22. I never said you need a full CMS for a small web game. Actually I would tend to say it's not useful.
  23. Well, and? You could also use PHP without any downloaded code for that, does that mean PHP is a CMS by it's own? Nope... Sure you can make CMS with PHP as you can do a CMS based on Wordpress... but still that doesn't mean it is one by default.
  24. Why not pick up existing codes? As if somebody custom code it for you it will cost you... certainly more than for an open source code ;)
  25. Well, in a CMS I expect to have multiple editors, which can contribute on some sections or all, then there should be a review process (done by other members) which ends up by agreeing on the article and therefore publishing it, or on the other side back to the editor if it's not good enough. All that is something different from a blog which in my opinion wordpress is. It's a pure blog software, but that's not the same thing as a CMS for me.
