fair enough Kyle, but from my experience, very little of what lightning has claimed to have done in the past is created by himself. But hey, i'm ready to get proved wrong! I'll look forward to seeing the finished version.
-
in that case I must have stolen it from you as current business is on my site. is it a fully fledged 'mod', surely it's an option that anyone who knows a little php can put together and display. Either way, makes it handy for someone who doesn't know how to do it to have it in one place.

I suppose this may be the case for most people, but our crime formulas have been changed quite a bit and at the moment some of them are coming out with success rates of over 100%. Not ideal but something we'll look into! Just thought setting a max width would just be a fail safe incase formulas were changed.

When's this guy going to give up...

If your referring to the comments that give important information about the risks of working with you, their hardly pointless. I posted that comment here as anyone interested in partnering up will look at this post and see the identified risks. Although I'm aware that I could post this in the collab forum, it would mean that someone looking at this topic would not be aware of the risks unless they knew enough about this forum to check out the collaborations board. Could we not implement a new rule that means whenever you post a topic asking for partners or work to be undertaken, you have to post a link to the collab board as well so people at least have the option to check you out before getting to involved. Also just to knock it on the head heres a post I did regarding lightning a few months ago http://makewebgames.io/showthread.php/43306-Not-a-nice-subject-Lightning

Cheers Ian, just what i wanted, although looking at the code I should have tried a little harder myself to work it out haha. Just an idea aswell, for the percent bars, it may be necessary to set their Max width to 100. Otherwise you may get some extremely long bars depending on your crime success formula's. That was an issue I had but was solved by assigning the images a class and specifying the max width in the css. Thanks again Ian

strange way of splitting up his time. I'd be wary people agreeing to work with lightning, he's well known for not so great behaviour online. Also knowledge regarding anything close to PHP seems to be minimal if even existent. He's been caught trying to scam someone into buying our site, as well as trying to charge for free mods. But hey, maybe he's turned over a new leaf.

glad to see another game in development, however you may want to think of some unique features to add to your game. What makes it stand out from the countless other games about? I havent seen your other posts or the site fully but the updates you listed here seem to be replicas of torns features...much like every other game out there! just an idea! keep up the work though! - - - Updated - - - my thinking also. never got why it was in torn either!
-
i agree, thats why ours doesn't have a major advantage over non donators. Defiantly tricky to get a good balance. back on topic, how about a new crimes system, either graphically or more features eg. rough indicator of whether a player would be likely to succeed or not or something similar. They seem a bit plain as they are.
-
Well in the one I've just done donators get 10% extra on their gym gains automatically. We also have item weights in our game and theres a chance that working out will increase your max weight capacity. Also added gym levels and extra gains as you go up gym levels. Still could be more done to it but thats a job for the future i think!
-
advanced gym? i've just finished making up ours but struggled to find anything about to upgrade the gym from the standard gym. Ended up just doing it myself....but i'm being greedy and not wanting to share!

if your planning to charge for video creation it may be worth giving an example of a video you've made that is more than a few seconds long. I would agree with mng that the login template is quite basic. do you have more examples?
-
yes Kyle they get an email that they have to click a link on to activate the account.

I love zombies/survival games, that's why me and a friend decided to develop a game with that theme. in terms of earnings, we're not expecting anything significant, but would be nice to get enough to cover hosting costs! We've made a game that we'd enjoy playing, and hopefully others will. If you focus to much on earning money, you pose the risk of making one of these 'pay to win' games, which have a pretty limited market i find!

ok now sorted it. Seems to older MYSQL queries just needed updating a bit. pain in the ass figuring that out but all a learning process. Cheers for the assist Kyle.
-
nice work man, looks very tidy. Nice to see something a little different!
-
cheers Kyle Separated them as suggested, and it does make sense, however doing this alone hasnt sorted the problem. THrough lots of testing it would seem that the code isn't calling in the pack price , therefore when it compares the price in the database to the price paypal sends, its failing. Still working out why but will post here when sorted so others know for future!
-
So the URL isn't the problem by the look of things, it's more around the ion function on the credits page possibly not doing what's it's meant to. Tried for ages to troubleshoot it but still no luck. Payments go through fine, it's just the ATP credit that doesn't seem to be working! Anyone know if arson is still around anywhere??
-
hmm so it would be websitename.com. tried that and it still doesnt seem to be crediting users with their purchased credits after payment has been sent. Not sure how likely it is that I'll be able to get hold of Arson aswell! thanks for the help Guest
-
Hey people I'm installing Arson's credit mod (where Paypal is used to purchase credits) and having trouble setting up the IPN. The instructions say to turn on IPN in Paypal, but to do this i have to provide a URL, which im not sure about! Which URL should i be providing? anybody got any clues?

Hey everyone Just wanted a bit of feedback, hoping to go live in the next month or so and want to make sure people are happy with the layout/graphics we've got. I'm aware that the text is quite small in places and I'm working on this gradually. All images are original and were created from scratch by myself. (obviously using my own and stock images) As the site is close to opening, I obviously can't be making massive changes to layouts but images can still be tweaked and I'm more than open to constructive criticism Cheers for any feedback! user profiles: Supplies/inventory: Town Shops:

These forums going down the toilet
spikereloaded replied to chicka's topic in Feedback and Site Support
As a relative newcomer to the PHP/MC codes/web games arena, I have to say that I've found this site immeasurably useful for information and advice, and i feel my knowledge of the area has grown from near enough nothing, to a level that's now allowed me (and a friend) to make a significantly unique game. I understand the frustration about idiots and time wasters but at the end of the day, it's the internet, there's no getting away from them. I've found the more experienced member on here really helpful and informative (although i do still feel like a complete novice when asking for help). I for one will continue to use the forums and hopefully, as time goes on be able to put more back into the community. -
i was thinking about this after i posted while i was driving to the gym....i could just add the infor to the databse, then do a query to select from the table where user location = 1 and travelling to location = 2 and so on. Simple! Now just got to spend time going through every combination of travelling and put it in the database as a new table! Thanks for the input Kyle, good idea but probably not ideal for what I'm looking for atm.
-
Hi guys I'm trying to add into our travel system different travel times based on where your travelling from and where your travelling to. Now in theory I have the general concept down, however the way i'm currently doing it seems veryyyy long winded and not very server friendly. I've got this so far: if($ir['location'] == 1 && $_GET['to'] == 2) { $time = "5"; } else if ($ir['location'] == 1 && $_GET['to'] == 3) { $time = "15"; } if($ir['location'] == 1 && $_GET['to'] == 4) { $time = "10"; } and this goes on until to == 8. Now this is only for calculating the travelling time from location 1 and i want to calculate travelling times for the other seven locations as well, and im thinking repeating what I've got above, 7 more times, is not the best way to do it. Anybody got another method that i'm missing here? thanks in advance

How to integrate SMF into any McCodes Package
spikereloaded replied to sniko's topic in Free Modifications
well the game isn't oficially being used yet, as we're still working on it so it will probably be through a fresh install. Just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing anything obvious
