I currently offer a feature on my own game where users use a smart phone located 20 pixels above the screen to the bottom right, when the user receives a new message, the cellphone vibrates, the light on the cell phone blinks and the cellphone raises up an extra 40 pixels per vibrate. When the user clicks the phone it slides up (animation ftw!) and displays the rest. The Smart phone sports an Inbox, Outbox, Settings (vibrate on/off, layout, phone setup, etc) the user can use one of the 5 premade layouts or make one and save their own. Layouts include animated backgrounds and custom layouts. The user can add/remove contacts, check new messages, delete messages from inbox/outbox, delete all messages at once. In mine there are extra links for a help section, a section to contact game devs and mods, and a few more buttons in which i will add no problem. This mod will require me to install it personally. The code is well commented and precise and is written in Php/Sql/Javascript with no framework in mind and requires at minimum, ajax capabilities (which i will provide) either framework or simple javascript calls (ajax). This Mod requires a personal installation and could take from 1-7 days. My email is [email protected] The price is $50, negotiable

I have considered making mccodes mods out of features inside my game. Is there anyone out there still looking to purchase new ideas?
-
Even though i do not use the mccodes engine as much as i wish i could, much props go to the creator for sure. He is the one who has paved the way for your genre

I could Beta locally on windows(vista) and linux(ubuntu 10) as well as online linux(centos). Sounds Fun. edit: Smarty templating is nice, but a waste of time 90% of the time. I am glad you are not going that route. Also if you have msn i could help give you some tricks i picked up on hiding the database from the user. Mine is [email protected]

I need someone to get a feel for my game by using their intuition and figuring things out. A logical person who can explain what is going on. Basically i need someone who can write a Help Section. The help section should be in English, well formatted and readable, logical and without spelling errors (obviously). I would not require a special design or anything, just the overall explanations of how things function and run, and maybe some tips and tricks you have discovered yourself. What would someone charge for this kind of thing?

Hello Makewebgames Community. It's http://www.pure2012.com I have Opened the Open beta for the game that i have been creating. Anyone can Login and register, and as of last night i reset the game. if you have not been following on previous posts, Pure is an Online Hacking Game being programmed by one person using no game engine with ideas created and endorsed by the community as a whole. and here is a screenshot http://www.pure2012.com/Screenshot_new.png I hope dave doesn't penalize me for the Live Tutorial being down. ;)

What would be the drawback/s of allowing players to submit CSS to the database? I know its possible to run some sort of cdata inside css, but i do not use that kind of thing too much

[MCCODES V2] File Creator and Editor ingame
runthis replied to Uridium's topic in Free Modifications
Making this mod safe would be very simple. Are you the only one that intends to use it? Why not just program it in, if its you by user id, or if your like me and super paranoid, sort it by your ip address, browser md5hash, only accept only port 80, and a password. For an even greater safety precaution, when the password is entered correctly, make it say "Incorrect Password" and hang for a second or 5. A few years back when i was making an mccodes game, i made it to where the admin account had 2 passwords, and a phrase that needed matching as well as locked it to my IP so only my home computer could access it -
yeah you make a good point. i can say i have been in that situation and it really sucks to underbid or under accept a price on a job. Lesson learned, statement retracted
-
Since everyone is saying it wont work, i guess they havent thought about this scenario I will help out when i can, and will do it for free.

Thanks Djkanna, updating it every day

Thanks, another screenshot? http://pure2012.com/nov16.png

Server can handle alot, had 9 people on earlier with cpu usage percent at 0. something, but sometimes an Ajax request can get lost in its route or for some reason take longer than expected if interrupted. The format of the outside windows (non game, non logged in) are unreliable, meaning that there is no error checking. This is resolved in game for Beta Testers (anyone registered before the 15th) Sorry for that i have just been working on the inside of the game so much. In the game JohnGato has a beta account, and inside he probably had pretty quick page loads, with redundancy checks, load checks, wait checks and of course a manual button at the top of each window that reloads the information onclick. Sorry again, of course i will fix the outside windows by january. A suggestion if you are even slightly interested in the game and do not have a beta account, get an account when you can and login every once in a while to the forum, before release i will be silently caching parts of the game into your browser and several other things that will help you have a nice experience from day one. Also it is a technical note to see how game play, layout interacts with your specific browser. edit, speed test according to iwebtool.com http://www.iwebtool.com/speed_test?domain=pure2012.com%2Flogin.php Domain name pure2012.com/login.php Size 17.03 KB Load Time 0.42 seconds Average Speed per KB 0.02 seconds also when running a test on a big file (6mb) http://www.iwebtool.com/speed_test?domain=pure2012.com%2Fkagu.mov Domain name pure2012.com/kagu.mov Size 6087.54 KB Load Time 4.91 seconds Average Speed per KB 0 seconds

As some of you may already know, i have been developing an Online Hacking Game that plans release in January. None of this has changed, but i thought i would keep my presence up and offer a screenshot towards gameplay. The newest features are too many to name, things like Smart phone, traces, slaves, fines, messenger, Ddos, icons, etc. The game focuses on ease of use, for instance your icons stay where you move them forever, you can paste text into the software input and it will grab the IP to perform the actions, your smart phone vibrates and blinks a red light when you get a new message, things like that. if you have not heard of it, its http://www.pure2012.com and here is a screenshot http://www.pure2012.com/Screenshot_game.png Edit: To test speed of the main page http://www.iwebtool.com/speed_test?domain=pure2012.com%2Flogin.php

EDIT: More important: chances are the person who messaged you (in game) is not really from mccodes, just someone for some reason got upset enough to fake threaten you for fun You can run your game (for non profit) and put at the bottom of the page "For Promotional Purposes Only" and link to the mccodes website, completely legal way to get away with that. In texas, where i live, people mix famous artists music, on the back of every one of these bootleg cds says "For Promotional Use" and gives credit where credit is due, this is a legal way of getting around paying royalties, however, if found that you making a profit, your liable for your profit, plus any profit loss they may say is a result of potential visitors going to your game instead of legit owners games, in which you could be liable for profits resolving from loss of ad revenue, time spent investigating your game, etc
-
realm is right bro. if you can get a programmer in there to split profits with for a few months you could make that person the admin after that time and continue splitting profits.
-
I thought this deserved a reply. This seems like a much better alternative http://www.thomasfrank.se/text_color_gradients.html
-
ok im sorry.
-
You might find someone who is willing to take over as admin, essentially splitting profits with you. I don't think anyone on here could afford your game. Although it looks ok.

we could further improve the script by taking out the inline style and adding the colors to the linked stylesheet with a class. We could also shorten all the variables too. Also by removing $newName = ''; not needed to dot-add in php <?php $u = "SMOKEY_TEK"; $l = strlen($u); for ($i = 0; $i < $l; $i++) { $nN .= "<span class='c{$i}'>".$u[$i]."</span>"; } echo $nN; ?> we could improve the script further by making it three lines and removing un-needed white space (like the whitespace surrounding equal signs, ew) . <?php $u="SMOKEY_TEK"; $l=strlen($u); for($i=0; $i < $l; $i++){ $nN.="<span class='c{$i}'>".$u[$i]."</span>"; } echo $nN; ?> You are the only one in this thread advertising anything, and you further advertise by bringing up your years of technical expertise. just drop it
-
says the guy whose main coding expertise (at least what you are advertising) is mccodes. Why would he need to read it easier, hes plugging into a functions page and never looking at it again except maybe to change the colors. Also, take a closer look, mine is alot easier to read, all you need to know is the name, and colors. Both of our scripts would work fine for multiple members. "The while loop 90% of the time is indeed slightly faster (than the for loop)" according to phpbench.com The point is, both scripts work and work at milliseconds away from each other. So whats the big deal. In my own benchmark test against both of our scripts and 1000 users, we were equally as fast 95% of the time and my script doesn't have to use any inline styling, standard html guaranteed to work any and everywhere in any browser/os.
