You have to record and capture your own footage (or buy some stock) and turn that footage into an effect that looks nothing like it (like stealing camera movements, or water movements on a still camera) or use what you recorded and add things to it to make a completely different (record your sky without shaking) then change it to where the clouds all have funny shapes, or the sky is red, or make it rain when its not. Its all about how creative you can get, i remember making animated gifs using ms paint back in the day. Sometime its the nitty gritty work that pops. Go record cool things with your camera, get close up on a leaf, anything, you will be surprised at what you can do.

This seemed like the only place to put this. I would love to get some voice overs done for different things related to my hacking game (Like the voice analyzer software or calling an npc) Simple one liners. 1. "Hello ..... Hello ..... Is anyone there? ..." or 2. "I am the system administrator." to simulate calling them to steal the voice(1) so you can gain access to the main server(2). If anyone at all wants to record those two lines and send them to my email i will incorporate it into my game, the more the merrier. Could be fun ey? [email protected]

I would love to get my hands on one of those proprietary game engines like GTA's are based off of, or Gears Of War is based off of. edit: +1 for Unity3D btw

You are using css not compatible with your browser (whether you know your doing it or not) Try upgrading your browser (Chrome) to a more recent stable version. Also it is not just the gray background, it is the font size, rounded corners and such.

Hello Mr Anthony It seems as though you might have recent versions of firefox and IE but not google chrome. Go update and if you still experience a problem with styling you can look up "-webkit-" for css which may or may not help you depending on your programming intuition.

Yes, absolutely, i plan to make like ten of these threads, maybe on the last one i will include my own personal references to great frameworks.

It depends on your game, sometimes you can get away with placing ads. This one game i played whenever you went to one of the 60 non computer players it would say "There is no webservice running" but in this situation (where the game requires you to bury through all 60) simple ads could replace that text and generate some sweet revenue without ruining the layout of the game or gameplay experience at all. Sweet revenue means like $5-$10 a day which is enough to cover you expenses. Currently on my blog i making around $1-$5 a day on average with about 2% of visitors clicking ads. The key is to customize your ads to get the most money per click. Clicking your text ad may only get you a penny up to a dollar but very low, clicking a flash ad or multimedia ad will get you up to $3-$4 per click, so its best to use those over text ads if you want to generate a revenue that pays the bills

I really hope to not turn this into a framework thread as this is not to teach people frameworks that they might only use for one function. Its to teach people basic javascript concepts and ideas so people who might not know where to begin with javascript can now run with an idea and still keep a hand-coded project. If you choose to use a framework than i advise making your website as dynamic as possible, using it for a simple 8 lines of ajax or 8 lines for a fade is not necessary at all. Also i totally understand the "don't recreate the wheel" but with simple functions running a max of 10 lines, this isn't as recreating the wheel as it is more like learning a new skill.

You can get this done as low as $50 bucks by an experienced programmer, and as low as $20 for a not so experienced programmer, also some people just love programming like me and would do it for free (but you get what you pay for)

If someone was selling my layout or website i made for them, i would buy it back (tons of reasons)
