MafiaPoint Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Hello MWG! First of all, I'm relatively new to this site but I believe I would benefit from sharing this with you. I've spent a fair amount of time creating this game from scratch and I am still adding features to it. What I need right now is a few players to have a look at my game and provide me with some improvements and maybe a few tips along with some features that you, personally, would like to see. I'm new to the world of web design and development so I may have messed up in places without realizing it. Everything I've learnt has been from online sources. I know at least a few of you are talented developers out there so any tips for an amateur is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Craig. P.S. The game does not currently have a story or anything like that written up; I've spent most of the time learning PHP and coding the scripts on pages rather than textual content. Also, if you don't want to use an email to sign up, it's fine if you go ahead and type anything in the field. I don't plan on sending out emails, it's just for password recovery. SilvaTungDevil Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Hey its great to see new developers try something new. From what I have seen though you need to ensure you filter every variable! Anytime anything goes into the DB check it first. There are some errors in your coding that would allow would be hackers an oppurtunity to ruin your game :) But so far good job Quote

Not trying to say that you didn't create these from scratch, but if you were doing it from scratch probably would of done something more unique so your time is worth it. Good luck though! Quote

Yeah, you're right. I definitely need to add unique features. The features I implemented here were mainly from memory from other games. The idea of this site was a learning experience as I had no prior knowledge and just wanted to try and get something made :P I wasn't going to release it originally There's also another problem though. Someone found an exploit in my poor code to give themselves lots of money :P I'd love it if they shared it with me, we all have to learn somewhere lol :D Quote

What would you like to see implemented in the game? What would you like to see different? I'm currently trying to think of features to add so any input is appreciated. Looks good however I think the top info could be made smaller along the line where the red triangle is. Quote
