Dominion Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I won’t say I have “lost all respect for you” because it’s over the top. What did annoy me was that you did the job for them, and then seemed to turn into them; you disappeared. You’re a member of the team. Answer support threads as a mccodes team member, and that issue is gone. I mean other then this thread I don’t think I have seen you post lately... and it would be nice to see you active again even if it’s just posting a few times a day when you take a break from MonoDistrict. 1 Quote
Paul Evans Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I'm not a MCC member of the team i have never been a official member of the MCC team either and the reason behind me disappearing is none of anyones business but my family and im sure you will all respect that. I can give code based support though on the script if anyone personally messages me with a issue with the script i would immediately (when reading) work on the issue. 1 Quote
Dominion Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I'm not a MCC member of the team i have never been a official member of the MCC team either My mistake, but you are the one supporting redux? the reason behind me disappearing is none of anyones business but my family and im sure you will all respect that Of course. If it was personal I apologize if my comment came across the wrong way. I can give code based support though on the script if anyone personally messages me with a issue with the script i would immediately (when reading) work on the issue. We're a forum, the point is to post the issue and get help. Private messaging a single member defeats the object of the community. Quote
GregFest Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I wanna add i enjoy using redux, after working all the bugs out its very easy, and clean. It still has it problems but dont they all Quote
Paul Evans Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 yeah greg anything has its kinks. dominion i am support when the issues are DIRECTED AT ME... No i just don't really like to talk about why i was away and personally i don't believe it's anyone but my issue so no need to share but some people who know me will know why i was away my family have been through alot lately. yes this is a forum but as i said above i can change the main script people download so basically report a bug to me ill fix it and then a email will be sent out to the customers saying basically a upgrade has been made and explaining it and have it up ready for download the only issue which slows down this process is people flaming the product without giving any idea to the issues it's idiotic. Dominion Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 (edited) the only issue which slows down this process is people flaming the product without giving any idea to the issues it's idiotic. Fairly sure I actually said the new versions were better then the originals. Only attack I have publicly made was about Redux being restrictive. Don't have the most updated patch to give any kind of viewpoint on security (at least past the first/second release), and even if I did I doubt I would have time to go though the entire engine at the moment. Paul Evans Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Redux was a update to show people the MCC team are still working on the script people complained about the owners and the team being inactive for so long we basically give a teaser to a new system i was allowed to produce something people could mess with or even use as a game which actually looking at the statistics on how many have sold previously since release i would say it's quite popular with people and quite a few people still use it but as of previous versions it needs a little editing but doesn't every engine? GRPG? Zap? EZ? Horizon? all of the above need some editing and so does redux but it basically is a game in a box you can change so much more with redux than you could with 2.0.3 the future is gunna be better im sure if i could do that to 2.0.3 in 2 weeks the MCC team will produce a amazing v3 but as everyone knows i have no part in v3 at the moment. Who knows in the future i may have a small part in the code behind v3 this could be a bad thing or good depending on how you look at it. I'm still considering my own engine sometime in the future when my work is finally over for other people but personally at the moment i prefer to work for other people because when i work for myself i get slightly lazy lol EDIT: redux is still more secure than GRPG original version. Danny696 Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 EDIT: redux is still more secure than GRPG original version. You can hardly compare a 'secured' version of a 'secured' version of a 'secured' version of an original version of a game engine to actually an original version of a game engine. Quote
Dominion Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Redux was a update to show people the MCC team are still working on the script people complained about the owners and the team being inactive for so long we basically give a teaser to a new Inactive so they come back and sell something full of bugs... helpful. 2.03 may have had this aim, however Redux a paid update? I don't believe that's the case or at least was a poor attempt to show what they intended to. it needs a little editing but doesn't every engine? GRPG? Zap? EZ? Horizon? all of the above need some editing and so does redux Grpg is worse then mcc I admit. Horizon I have never seen, and ezrpg, and zap are free engines that require next to no work on the base. Nothing next to what Redux was being sold as; a fully ready game. Quote
Paul Evans Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Redux was a example of a different method of engine design and it is. it is what it says it is a game in a box you can produce a game from it can you not? Quote
rulerofzu Posted December 25, 2011 Author Posted December 25, 2011 Well you could produce a game. Limited to the structure given and restrictions imposed. Depending on if everything works or not. From what ive seen 2.5.5 still has admin end issues among other issues which I believe gregfest posted about. Fail to see how this is a different method of engine design. The base of the engine is still the same as v2.0 Quote
Paul Evans Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 All issues should be fixed on Redux Sample although if you do find a issue please report it here. Thanks for your time much appreciated. Quote

The base of the engine is still the same as v2.0 the base may be the same as 2.0 but the way things are done are really nice. You can break down to game to different folders for different things. That is what i like to do so when im editing a certain section of the game i can just go to that folder find the file and edit it that way. saves me time from having to look threw a massive amount of files. Now dont get me wrong with every good thing there is also a bad thing. for example the mods. Having to redo a few things from the way v 2 to v 2.5 does take some time. Quote
johnwest2 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 JohnWest2 that was my idea behind Redux. I for one like the Idea behind it. Make it much easier for me and to at the amount of converting i am doing to the mods i bought the game can easily get lots of files to it. Very nice being able to break them up I thank you for it Quote
Paul Evans Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 I just produced a module for redux and am planning on doing some more in the future. Mine Shaft: http://mccodes.com/viewmod.php?id=49 Quote
