Dominion Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I don't work for less than 70$ an hour and usually I require 100$ an hour. Yes I do have customers at that price ;)I'm not trying to disrespect your skills so please don't take this the wrong way but I don't think i've every seen any of your work.. :whistling: NEAB engine FREE edition + zap engine was more or less ALL him (that i know of anyway) http://makewebgames.io/board891-tutorials/ Also him. :whistling: Quote
chicka Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Well from what I have read so far which is quite a bit, the test to get your zend certificate isn't really all that hard. Either way I wasn't asking about certificates he carries I was simply mentioning that I have never seen any of his work. Quote
Danny696 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Feel free to take the test yourself, lets see how hard it is then... Quote
Paul Evans Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Ill work for 45 a hour :) Alain Bertrand is rather good look at http://www.nowhere-else.org/ or even NR both are rather impressive i wish i had his job lol Quote
Zeggy Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 >$100 per hour is pretty standard for professional developers (even web designers!). You have to remember, the clients are usually big companies or the government, with very deep pockets. And the developers are paid by contract, so there might not always be work all year round. Quote
lucky3809 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 $20 is a bit too cheap for a coder expect to pay around $75- and up... Unless you want an inexperienced coder then $20 isn't a bad price lol... Quote
a_bertrand Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Chicka: as other pointed out I do have quiet a few things around you may look: - http://www.nowhere-else.org - http://www.nodalideas.com - http://www.nebularider.com - http://www.wsirc.com - http://www.zapengine.com Now honestly trust me or not, I just said how much I charge, and oddly enough I do get that amount when (if) I do out sourcing work. Yet you will not see much of my work in the McCode community as I don't like much those kind of games even if next version of MC should have a piece of mine there (very small actually). For the price, 20$ per hour is extremely low for EU and US standards. Think that a 3D designer request 200-300$ per hour normally for example. 1 Sec of animation is usually 600$ etc. You guys should check a bit of the price of people which do that job for living and are a bit older than 20 or even less ;) Also I would say you start a company when you start to have customers, you don't start a company looking for people which may work for you yet without real projects and with that I mean projects which pay not just "I want to make a web game" kind. Diesl Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I don't work for less than 70$ an hour and usually I require 100$ an hour. Yes I do have customers at that price ;) I hope that's not what you charge in Switzerland, or else you're on the low end! The company that manages my company's website charges upwards of 150chf/hour. Quote
a_bertrand Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Diesl: don't worry for me ;) And yes 100$ per hour in Switzerland is really cheap. Outsourcing here is about 1500$ per day. Quote
chicka Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Allan I believe this is the first time I have ever seen any of your sites. Very impressive indeed. Quote
rulerofzu Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 *notes down Berties price per hour range. Now if only I can book his free time to code for me 8o I think the forum is blessed to have people like Alain who code in a variety of languages. Quote
a_bertrand Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Free time is my problem... I have nearly none ;( And I try to help others as much as I can... so it's a pleasure to see that some people appreciate it. Quote
