Dayo Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Hiya, while making a donator system for my game themercenary.net i had an idea. Basicly a user buys credit at TTG (my game portal in construction) once there the user can go to your game spend there credit for ingame items brave reset etc... (you will receive money for each credit they spend) Option 1: Would you like this as a gamer? Option 2: would you like this as a developer? Quote
Cronus Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Wouldn't use it because we could just set up payments to go straight to our paypal instead of having a middleman(you). Quote
Djkanna Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 As a developer I would use it, separated makes sense especially if you'd be creating a network of games that use the same credits throughout. As a gamer I probably would share the same opinion as Cronus, however if it were like I described as above and I played all the games within the network I would like it better to be cross-game credits then purchasing for specific games. Lilith Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Paypal has come out with a new feature that is great for the gaming industry. Its an app that you integrate to your site, and users never have to leave your game to get donator items. If you were to integrate that app into your game(s) for the purchase of Dontaor bucks, and each game had a page for spending the donor bucks, I think it would be cool as a player and a programmer. Im not sure how the database structure would have to be created, but its almost the best of both worlds. You can purchase for multiple games in the same system, and you never have to leave the game you are playing to do it. Read more on Paypals app here. Quote
Paul Evans Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 If you review the text it actually says it's only available in my beautiful country(the uk) and australia. Quote

a_bertrand Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Beside if you have a huge network like gamepoint.de I see no reason why I would share my donations with somebody else. Even if I would get 100% of the payment the middleman would know how much I gain which is already quiet some sensitive information. Yet if you can handle micro payment via payment cards or other stuff then maybe it could start to make sense, but just handling phone, credit card, paypal make no sense. Quote
