Paul Evans Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Try copyrighting something which has scripts in it which are under a GNU license then come back to me and complain. (typical admin) Better solution don't use MCC it's buggy and unreliable try another one (not gRPG that's surprisingly worse (i know amazing huh)) Quote
Dominion Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Try copyrighting something which has scripts in it which are under a GNU license then come back to me and complain. (typical admin) Advising people to use illegal code so they come to him for security, typical [you fill in here]... Better solution don't use MCC it's buggy and unreliable try another one (not gRPG that's surprisingly worse (i know amazing huh)) zap engine, and ezrpg are much better. Gangster legends is a good option if you want a ready made game, still take updating, but at least it's free, and legal. Quote
Paul Evans Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 yeah Dominion i see no relivence in you quoting the GRPG quote i mean come on let them at least look you mug... (spoon feeder) and wow you even read it all i clearly said [i am not in anyway indicating that you should commit a illegal offence i am simple providing a opinion and hold no responsibility for your actions] But personally buying it is less trouble in the future if you need help with security don't hesitate to PM me. Learn to read wow and your a admin im sure were all so happy your around ... lol notice you never even commented on me saying Try copyrighting something which has scripts in it which are under a GNU license then come back to me and complain. What's wrong did i say something bad? Shall i be punished for pointing out that MC is illegally selling scripts which are under GNU? Oops :( So try a DMCA and then someone will contact the original Author of the script and then they have fun taking all that lovely earned money. Hypercritical isn't it when they say 'you can\'t steal my script' yet they do it LOL i love that i really do, I personally think it's wrong to steal anyones code MCC cannot take legal action... end off (just so ya know i don't have a website which runs on MCC so yeah ...) Dominion Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Learn to read wow and your a admin im sure were all so happy your around ... lol By posting it you know full well you're putting it forward as a legitimate option... What's wrong did i say something bad? Shall i be punished for pointing out that MC is illegally selling scripts which are under GNU? Oops If I thought it was that wrong why are your posts still there? Hypercritical isn't it when they say 'you can\'t steal my script' yet they do it LOL i love that i really do, I personally think it's wrong to steal anyones code MCC cannot take legal action... end off (just so ya know i don't have a website which runs on MCC so yeah ...) There should be a separative download, as far as I can tell, however I have very little understanding of the GPL mainly due to me never reading it all. Quote
Paul Evans Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 GPL is General Public License basically it's for public use not commercial so you can't sell it and you must legally give GNU license with it (im assuming stating it which file is under the GNU) and i think it would have something different to Mono Country Codes v2.0: DB Class at the top of the file (i would personally call that theft and sue the crap out of MC but i don't own it so i don't really care) Personally though if MCC is selling it and there own staff say you'll get a DMCA for putting a downloaded copy on a site then you guys are probably right the DMCA would hold but it only takes one smart arse to figure out the technical loop hole and MCC owe a crap load of money out. By the way Dominion I have a basic human right to voice my opinion are you saying im not allowed that? (please say yes :)) Quote
Dominion Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 y the way Dominion I have a basic human right to voice my opinion are you saying im not allowed that? (please say yes ) I am saying when you sign up you agree that staff can delete any post, therefore I could technically block that right on mwg. I just think it's pointless to block it. I understand what the licence is about just not all the ins,and outs. Personally though if MCC is selling it and there own staff say you'll get a DMCA for putting a downloaded copy on a site then you guys are probably right the DMCA would hold but it only takes one smart arse to figure out the technical loop hole and MCC owe a crap load of money out. Well be that smart ass or stop posting things you can't back up. If you can post it with evidence i won't delete it, and i am sure the others won't. The three on the mcc team may want to discredit you, however that's expected. Btw just so you know small “snippets” can be used (look at the faq for the licence) . Quote
criminal wars Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 scripts BUT BASICALY CAN I MAKE A GAME USING THE FREE ONE'S THEN BUY LICENCE LIKE OFF SOME ON CHEAP WILL THAT WORK ALSO DOES THESE GAMES SELL WITHOUT LICENCE Quote
Dominion Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Topic split from :- mccode v2 scripts Quote
Paul Evans Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 Ok evidence will ask around for who asked me but just remember in IRC you actually said you knew the class was under GNU so... yeah do i really need to when i think anyone who's been on this forum more than 2 years knows... (lol @ how long i've been on here) Quote
Dominion Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I know what I said... also here is the link - http://scriptperfect.com/2009/09/php-database-class-the-right-way/ 09 does not pre-dates v2's release. Never seen a copy of it that pre-dates it. Quote
Paul Evans Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 so then why would you say it unless you just googled it for like 20 minutes found the one copy and then stuck to your guns... just because that's a 09 edition doesn't mean it's not been edited slightly or rereleased due to older posts being deleted or forgotten like mods on here do all the time. Quote
Dominion Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 The link was posted on Dev-F some time ago when this same thing popped up, and yet it's also the only link I have ever seen. Post evidence that shows it's legal to pass it around and/or mccodes has no right to prevent there work from being passed around, and as I said I will not remove it. Quote
Jordan Palmer Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 BUT BASICALY CAN I MAKE A GAME USING THE FREE ONE'S THEN BUY LICENCE LIKE OFF SOME ON CHEAP WILL THAT WORK ALSO DOES THESE GAMES SELL WITHOUT LICENCENo. You will not find a license cheap either... And no you cannot sell without a license Quote
Djkanna Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 MCC has it's problems and I really doubt all of it belongs to them but without proof of this I'm not going to judge. But it does make me wonder. Quote
BrowserGamesFactory Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Yawns , Happy New Year .... Looks like the year started with word fights already And derivated work can be implemented into a script, however credits should apply afaik, even if it's just a readme txt file that contains the credits of 3rd party stuff in the package. Quote
Dominion Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Was 2010 for me. :whistling: @Djkanna - There’s comments on pages like register.php that give links to where parts of it are from (email check i think), however you're right in a way it does make you wonder. My point was (I think anyway) you can't post stuff like that without some way to back it up. He knows full well saying stuff like that will enough people to try it. Quote
Paul Evans Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 'will enough people try it'? I simply was saying that i find it hypercritical... lol Quote
Spudinski Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Be mature guys. Everything has it's flaws, but just like people you learn to love them for it anyways. Quote
Equinox Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I've seen the script Paul is on about, one of use discovered it a long time ago and it was posted before V2's release. I'll try and dig it up. Quote
