site security & mods required

hi,

i have purchassed the mccodes package, and now have set up on some hosting from relhost who helped me loads. ( thanks pal )

i have not a clue about coding, so i am here requesting some help with various mods, some maybe a little complex and some simple ones. i have the v2.0 of mccodes. i am looking for someone with enough time to help and work on many mods over a period of time as i have a list of around 20 mods so plenty of money to be earned by someone. if the big mods i have in mind are possible and invlove alot of time then i have no issue with maybe working out some stage payments.

now price i am not sure how you work, ive seen someone with 1usd per 100 lines in a quote, some may just give me a price for a finished product, i assume after discussing what i would like help with the price is negotiated.

 

Security -

i have also been reading up alot about many problems with various issues, and would like a trusted security person to fully secure ( or upto date knowledge on hacks ). but would this be better of doing after all the mods are done or would now be a good time and have security within the mods added ?

also how much would you charge for the services.

If your code is not secured, please consider to DISABLE the website before you get some troubles. To do so simply put an .htaccess which requires a username and password and don't share it with everyone... just those which should work on the site.

Security will cost you between 50 and 300$, for the mods forget the 1$ per 100 lines. That's certainly not a right price as not all lines are created equals. So check who is a good MOD writer and ask for how much it would cost to develop a mod which does X and Y.

Finally, remember to keep money for advert ;)

BTW, you should really invest some time into learn how to code before jumping on such adventure, otherwise I don't see well how that will work out beside if you have really a huge budget.

i already took out the register.php so no one should be able to gain access yet as you mentioned apart from those i make accounts for to give access.

i have ordered the dummies guide in php and mysql for beginners, so hoping this will help if i can understand it lol

as for the mods i require, i will have a bespoke price with people before agreement then. as oppossed to the price per line, thanks.

i have put a small budget each week to the side, hopfully enough to cover each mod, and of course i will make sure i have some advertising when ready to go...

so just waiting for some people with skills to tackle my mods :P

I do McCode re-codes for $300.

And the thing with this whole $1 per 100 lines, it's usually someone trying to make a quick buck, you want to invest in someone who is good otherwise paying someone to write a mod that has very little knowledge of PHP was just a big waste.

A simple search around these forums should present you with several people who offer their services to secure your site for you.

In reality i would guess your looking at a further $150 - $200 for this security job alone.

Look for users such as : djkanna, crimgame, danny and joshua. These are the first who have come to mind and have all got a proven reputation when it comes to securing mccodes and creating modifications for them.

I strongly recommend you learn yourself to avoid paying high prices. If that’s not going to happen at least learn the basics of php so you can tell if someone is selling you crap. If you need to know if someone is as good as they say they are feel free to ask on the forum. I am sure no one will mind.

djkanna, crimgame, danny, joshua. And Equinox are all worth looking into, however there are more that would be worth hiring. As I said feel free to ask about anyone you're not sure about.

Count me out (to all the mentions here) I'm strictly working for one company at the moment and myself so I'm not taking on any more work but thanks all the same.

I'd recommend Equinox for security jobs, CrimGame isn't around at the moment.

Mod ideas/creation ask around there is many mod creators here that will be willing to help.
