Cronus Posted December 2, 2008 Author Posted December 2, 2008 Re: [showcase] CriminalImpulse.com Released! CI is actually a good looking game. Good job Cronus. The amount of users online reminds me of the good old days. When the few games out had 30 to 100 people online within 15 minutes. Yea we get upwards of 50 normally. I'm really working on just getting more users right now. Features are what bring them in but I don't want a site just crammed with mods. I think most of my additions out before adding them, making sure they work with the economy and are actually useful. Advertising is also key. I advertise with a few different networks, nearly $250/week I imagine. Blue if you have any tips a pm would be great. Quote

But no, I won't tell you what, I like this feature being unique. Quote

Cronus Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 Re: [showcase] CriminalImpulse.com Released! New feature today, bookies. My members can either become bookies, or bet on the games the bookies(other players) have set up. You can do a spread just like in real life, a total, theres a juice, handle cap, etc etc. Bookies put in the game, the odds they want, the time it starts, the amount they are willing to spend, and they're off! The page automatically closes bets once the time is up. The keys to new addition: It's user to user gambling, so nothing in the economy lost. The users can bet on REAL sports with fake money, much better than losing real money. It's staff moderated so there is no scamming. Staff confirms all scores with very simple form. The whole update is on one page, about 1400 lines of code. Took only 2 tables in the database to put together. Oh, and did I mention, there are no crons whatsoever? Quote

Cronus Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 Re: [showcase] CriminalImpulse.com Released! New Custom Attack System Added! The new attack system on ci has finally finished and I am quite please with the outcome. Screenshot can be found here. Agility determines how often you hit(duh). Strength determines how hard you hit(duh). Defense determines how much you defend your opponents strength(duh). Endurance determines how long you last in battle. If you do not have enough, it makes you miss more towards the end of battle Users can see the opponents body and aim for 3 areas on them. They are able to see their clips and reload during battle if necessary. If they are doing a melee attack, users can choose which melee "move" they would like to do. They gain these moves by training once every 30 minutes on 3 hidden stats with their "trainer". Randomly when they reach milestones new moves will unlock(I may change this to a trade-in system). If you are defending you DO lose clips based on how you defend yourself. This keeps users on their toes and needing ammunition at all times. Attacking stalemates after 50 rounds, no matter what. Attacker only loses energy. If the attacker attempts to log out to dodge a loss, they will acquire the loss when they log in again and go straight into the hosp. Thats pretty much the basic rundown, obviously you will understand it better if you sign up and try it out. Also note: this will not go up for sale, custom to CI only. Quote
