  1. Bump. Thanks for comments everyone. :)
  2. Well let's take a few features in to example: NEAB has a map, right? Now to create a module just for the map feature, it would be very time consuming to rewrite the whole map to work with a new engine and new authentication system on NWE and could take possibly months to a year. It could maybe take only 2 days to instead integrate the whole engine with NWE instead of just that map feature and thus be able to get what you want in it.
  3. I can't tell you how many times I have one great game engine and I want to merge it with another for more functionality but in order to do so, I have to do some sort of coding so that both work correctly which can be very time consuming. I think NWE should have a free integration module that works with other engines such as MCCodes, NEAB, EZRPG, etc. so that: •The player is auto-logged in to both. •Both engines print out the right values, such as both show the correct currency amount for that player, etc. •The game menu in NWE can link up to features in the other game engine and via versa. Hope someone makes this! Thanks for reading!
  4. Announcement: BetaVille is planned to be released in 2 languages at first: English and Portuguese. Post-beta for these 2 projects, we will work on translating Spanish as well as other language markets.
  5. Update Status: I am currently working on custom developer tools for UGC creators that want to put their own content into BetaVille. Demo of the editor will be posted soon.
  6. Yes, this would be awesome! I love the features I have read over in NWE, but sadly, NEAB doesn't have them. This would be perfect!
  7. Hello everyone, As you may or may not know me, let me introduce myself. I am Adam, a web game developer excelling in PHP, Flash, HTML5/Java, and Ruby-based game programming. Since November 2012, I have been developing a web-based virtual world game called. When I first conceived of BetaVille, I had one vision guiding the project: a game that would leave the player more creative & happy than before they played. If you want a description of the game: The game is scheduled to come out in 2014 and will be powered by the Creation Engine; a compiliation of 3 game engines combined together, all modified heavily by me and one also coded 100% by me. This thread is where you can submit ideas for the game, offer comments/advice, and read the latest news about the game.
  8. Did anyone buy their own mods for it from them when it was released? I doubt they seem to care about the work they had made if their site is defunct, not even relocated so reselling shouldn't be a problem.
  9. Bumping the thread up. :)
  10. TMDHosting sells domain/shared hosting environments with unlimited transfer/storage/MySQL/backups and with a tech support team that installs PHP scripts and other scripts for free, all for $30 USD a year. (Pretty good deal.) Try domain.com for just a domain if not looking for hosting.
  11. As you guys may already know, I am getting increasingly interested in MiniNEAB and I hope to find the following mods: -Item Store -Wheel of Destiny -Dynamic Avatar System The site these were on is obviously broken now and I am hoping someone can help me get them. Thanks!
  12. Day 2/3: The tiles are currently being implemented as well as I am experimenting with cross server installation so the game can be on multiple servers to allow support for opening, closing, and instancing while using the same database, thus allowing to save CPU resources and bandwidth to the server.
  13. If this game does end up going live, you should allow UGC to be part of the game, like player-created quests, custom structures, etc.
  14. Day 1: I am experimenting with the in-game map right now; tomorrow hopefully, I can start implementing my building tiles and designing the overall look.
  15. This is a thread about my progress on a new virtual world project underway right now. This is expected to continue until August when we hope to finish. This will follow everything, from web page development, to game coding, to graphic design, and more. Feel fre to post below your opinions as I write this progress book. (PS: Special thanks to A_Bertrand for his licensing of MiniNEAB. After all, the game project would be dead without a next gen game engine.)
  16. Bringing the thread back up. :) A few facts to interest you: -The engine is planned to be a modified miniNEAB. -The game's art style is mostly pixel art isometric objects. -Development is hoped to end around Fall 2013.
  17. Few business owners on the Internet, specifically gaming websites never realize a interesting logic behind the Freemium business model. It is proven that 94.3% of players on a Freemium game will end up buying lots of limited time only virtual items/content just by the fact it will never be available again. See, it intrigues them and they hope to make big money by reselling the item in-game to another player or else show it off to other players, giving them a good feeling and money in your pocket Just thought I would share this interesting business strategy to new game developers/owners.
  18. Thanks for the answer A_Bertrand! Forgot to ask, is more skins for the MiniNEAB besides what is seen in the demo? (such as the awesome skin in the real NEAB game; really hope I can use one of those types as a base for the in-game UI.
  19. Hi, Since I have plans for using NEAB engine for a game, I have a few questions about it: 1. Is it possible to add chat/account tracking logs to the admin options? 2. Is there a way to add a moderator control panel so in-game moderators can monitor chat logs, as detailed above, and kick players as needed? 3. Is is possible to turn NEAB engine into a UGC testing tool for other developers? (like removing the ability to chat, do quests, etc. and only be able to move on a map and test avatar movements to test custom tiles/avatars that are developed.) Thanks!
  20. Hi guys, I am currently working on two back-burner projects - the game demo showing in-world looks, etc. and a tool for custom content creators to test their avatars/game items in. I need suggestions for the in-world demo. So far, I am only building the world itself; there are currently no other avatars, missions, or anything else to demo. Do you have any suggestions as to what I should put into the demo? Post below!
  21. I was really intrigued by some NEAB engine mods(dynamic avatar system, wheel of destiny) but it appears the site no longer works. Anyone know what happened/has a copy of those mods?
  22. Well as stated, we do also have legalities to worry about and they are more the main focus than technical requirements. We have planned though after we get the engine all working and launch the site post-private beta, we will look into embeddable versions of the game into Facebook, Hi5, and a few other gaming platforms, but for now, we just focus on the main standalone game.
  23. Hi ColdBlooded, We(as in my team of developers/artists friends that work on the game too) have a few complications regarding Facebook Apps: •We have already paid for domain, hosting, etc. for this project. •The Facebook developer platform is much too complicated due to always changing technology/policies to permanently host it on their app platform. Though, we do have plans to introduce embeds of the game for Facebook as well as the regular webmaster. •We prefer standalone hosting as we aren't then bound by one company's policies which may range into some pretty outrageous requests from them to modify the game.
