I did email you HauntedDawg. Infact it is you who has not replied to my emails. Anyway enough about that. I have asked 6 or so members here to code this up for me. (paid ofcourse) Prices have varied from person to person but one thing has remained the same. No one ends up able to do it. I am still looking for someone willing to either help point me in the correct direction or even do it as a paid job.

Was that not a different offer? I seem to recall a $50 offer and now its changed to 45.

I have to apologize here Grant and retract what i said. You did not sell me the game! After hunting down the purchase i come across this. (at the time i thought he was the current owner?) Brandon Werner <[email protected]> Purchased on around September 11th. So did the "old" owner sell me a copy after he gave you the rights? Explains why he wont reply to my emails anymore.
-
Nope i got charged $50 for it. And it had no mods. Actually most things did not work at all! And it was from the new guy who owns the rights to it now.... Dont remember his name.
-
hahah yea i have. Doing 18 hr days currently trying to get my game up and running. So by all accounts im doing a marathon! As for what i have made.... Nothing too extravagant but then again im not very skilled with php. Just getting the game engine to run properly has been a mission. (got sold a horrible gRPG engine) I am getting better day by day though.

Silly me. I wont be doing that again then. Well given the staff here dont want people asking for coders then i will ask to close this thread please. I wont bother you guys on here anymore. I will find myself a website that does infact allow and cater to such requests.
-
Sorry Sim but as i stated i have contacted many people here regarding work. I have paid several here to do work only to have the work fail. Or them contact me back saying they cant do it after paying! I was told the 2 people here to employ are Sniko and Guest. Well they both are not replying to me hahahahaha so im a little disheartened. At this point of time i am looking to hire skilled coders who are not limited to one particular thing. I do recognize MWG is no longer the place to employ people for this sort of work. Thats where this thread was going. I was asking the people here is they know of any active domains where i can employ "reliable" coders? Reliable coders that are properly skilled and dont make false promises. Coders that once given a job get the job done without excuses as to why or why not.

Budget depends on the work that gets done. I have a list of about 40 different jobs i wanted done. Thus far i have paid coders here to do work and they have failed. Either not what i asked or just unable to do the work period. So budget is not the dictator here. Look at the request for a paid job i posted. Simple levels change. I paid coders to do that work and they failed. I have resorted to doing most of the jobs myself at this point. An example if i may.... I have some here wanting $10-$15 per hour right. Seems an ok amount right? Well what if a simple job takes coder A 5 hrs and coder B 1 hr. The price different is HUGE! So my wallet size is not the dictator here. But a number value seems to be important here regardless of the work needed. I would put in another $1k to the game if i got ahold of a coder who was available, reliable and good.

I have tried and tried to get work done here, and for whatever reason it seems difficult. People doing other work, unable to do the work i ask or just not replying to pms. Anyway i actually do want to get my game up and running so the question is. Where the hell can i get a good coder that will work on gRPG? I understand now WMG is no longer the place to find coder. So whats your advice? Any suggestions on credible domains i can locate someone? Know of "active" coders that are hungry for work? Then hit me up please. Rather than me wait around here for days and days for replies if you have advice please email me. [email protected] Im off now to scour the web for coders ready to do some work.

Exactly Lucky :)

lol not sure you know what i am after there Lucky but thanks anyway. I got someone to code it up for me and hoping to test it out tomorrow.

Your correct Adamhull. The column is username not user however it still fails sadly. Not sure why i had that set to user to be honest. Must have been the point i was at screwing around with it at that point. However i was able to get the activation to work. Here is the modified code i used to get it to work. $activate = mysql_query("UPDATE `grpgusers` SET `verified` = '1' WHERE `activateCode` = '$activateCode' AND `username` = '$user'"); Now for me to get the actual email to send properly and this is all done.
-
What i asked has nothing to do with jobs. Apart from the fact i am willing to pay for this JOB to be done. I want to change the levels and exp!
-
Bumping this. I am back looking for someone to have a go at this for me.

Download some free game source. install wamp on local system. create a database. import database. configure database connection (config or whatever it may be called). upload all files to your servers /var/www or whatever. Call up the game in your browser and all done hahahahahah.

I setup email activation on my game. Mostly works hahaha. Anyway my problem is this..... My activation email sends just fine but does not show the from address properly. It shows www-data as the From address. I can change that to show my from address but when i do that my email gets sent without html. Like this will not show the from address but the html works fine. $emailSubject = "BLAH"; $headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0"; $headers = "Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"; $from = "From: MY EMAIL"; $emailBody = "<html><body><h2>BLAH</h2></body></html>"; mail($registerEmail, $emailSubject, $emailBody, $headers, $from); Reading up there is a order i believe i am supposed to do this. From being the 4th? So i tried this. $emailSubject = "BLAH"; $headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0"; $headers = "Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"; $from = "From: MY EMAIL"; $emailBody = "<html><body><h2>BLAH</h2></body></html>"; mail($registerEmail, $emailSubject, $emailBody, $from, $headers); I also tried addind another header like $header = "From: MY EMAIL" and still no joy hahahaah. So if anyone knows what i am doing wrong here i would appreciate the help. While i am at it :) Might ask another question sort of related to the email activation. Here is the important code that relates to activating the account. $activateCode = $_GET["activateCode"]; $user = $_GET["user"]; $activate = mysql_query("UPDATE `grpgusers` SET `verified` = `1` WHERE `activateCode` = '$activateCode' AND `user` = 'user_class->username'"); Here is a link example supplied in email. http://www.domain.com/activate.php?activateCode=81966357&user=test I can confirm the code is accurate as is the user however it does not set verified to 1?

theGRPG website will be up tonight with the new script available
DAMINK replied to grant's topic in Generic RPG
Well i purchased it. On the premise it was secure and bug free LMFAO! Didnt i get sucked into that one! I can tell you its NOTHING LIKE what is suggested here. NOTHING AT ALL like it. I have spent the last month fixing the countless problems with the source and thats before we look at security! Not to mention none of the options suggested here were included. I often look at this thread and shake my head. (why i decided to reply to it) -
Thanks Zettieee i gave up trying to register otherwise. Your right nice theme by Pete. Looks good.
-
In your game.css i see td width="20%" where the side menu is. Now your using <hr> to make that line and it simply fits the table size. If you shrink the 20% it will work. Another option would be this. http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_hr_width_css

Just tried to sign up. Something is up mate. Captcha failed despite no captcha there then it directs me to a non themed page which does have the captcha. Just letting you know. Update... Actually i cant seem to register there at all man so might wanna look into that.
-
Thanks for the feedback Zettieee. However this is what i want, be it time consuming or not. Thats why its a paid job. I did say "in blocks" not each level customized. Meaning for example..... Level 1-5 has X maths for exp. Level 6-30 has Y maths for exp. Level 31-75 has Z maths for exp. Not exactly like that. But i think you will get the idea now a little better.
-
I want the exp and levels requirement reworked totally. I do not want a standard maths based requirement rather levels in blocks and so that its easily modified (possibly through admin cp?). Anyone interested in the job then PM me your price. Thanks.

I was just wondering incase someone else uses this and finds it does not work. Making the column is how i got this to work so i guess i was suggesting to the OP that this should be included in the sqls. Unless ofcourse the column is supposed to be in the default gRPG table and i was unaware.
