Brand New Hosting AVAILABLE AT Cheap Prices
KyleMassacre replied to AnonymousUser's topic in Linux and Webservers
Can I for some reason make a recommendation(I'll duck when I hear the gunshots)? I would recommend maybe PHP 5.4. Why you ask? Well if you jump into 5.5 you lose the widely used crap extension called MySQL, which will cause some people that don't get with the times and update to either PDO or MySQLi to basically be dead in the water. Currently I don't think a lot of hosts are jumping straight into 5.5 even though I haven't been on shared hosting in quite some time so maybe I can be corrected? This way you broaden your clientele and you can then notify them when you make the plunge and if they don't correct it, well, sucks for them pretty much -
[In Prod.] Enhanced Registration
KyleMassacre replied to KyleMassacre's topic in Requests & In Production
I think its almost complete, I would just have to look at it and compare it with my notes. I think there is one more thing I want to change on it then I can release it. -
Today: Nothing Pipeline: iOS app for the forum (I'm just learning Obj-C) Finishing my MCC module for my enhanced registration(I may actually be done I just need to look it over and compare with my notes) Creating a Player Shops module for NWE Thats pretty much it for now and if there is anyone decent at iOS development that wouldn't mind coaching me on a few things that would be great so hit me up

[ATTACH=CONFIG]1609[/ATTACH] Mannnn, it was tough but I completed level 1. It's a pretty fun game Pete, nice work

Can you explain what is wrong with your 2 mods and a possible budget? Its always good to post these things to get the formalities out of the way. This way people can give you a ball park quote right off the bat instead of dancing around all of this. Plus, who knows. It may be something really easy that we can help you with right here.

You may run into issues using some of them images since it is using COD:WaW images

The 500 error is generally due to an error in your code. Try checking your error logs or turning your error reporting on -
Well I was using that as an example. But to answer you, yes. Now if your going to compare your system to something like jQuery and JavaScript then I would think about..... (Ummm can't think of the right word right now but I'll go with syntax) your syntax. A lot of the jQuery objects and methods are a shorthand of JavaScript. The example you were providing isn't really a shorthand at all, it's pretty much the same if you look at it. And if I'm not really picking up what your trying to do exactly then my bad and disregard :p

Me personally I just like to use straight ol' fashioned PHP. To me this looks a bit like smarty in a way which I don't like to use. Now I wouldn't mind just using a class library to do something like: //create a method using your code above as a sample. I'm just too lazy to right what you wrote on my phone $obj->method($var,"some statement",5); Something like that for a shorthand approach
-
I'm not too sure what you are asking for help on exactly but I believe you want those images to show up that's in your last section of code? You are echoing out the image path and what you need to do is add the img tags. Also instead of using all those nested if,else if, else statements you can use a switch statement which can make it a bit easier to read too for the future.

due we still reort people for invallid mccodes lisence
KyleMassacre replied to Raven1992's topic in General
Well that would be the right thing to do -
It should be fairly simple to create a webview app for MWG. But creating a full native app (non webview) is where it would be tricky to handle everything you can do on the forum within the app itself

This is getting off topic. Let's get back on track here

Most hosting does come with PMA if you have Cpanel hosting or you can download a program to remote in like Navicat for Win or Mac ($$$$$$) or for Mac you can use Sequel Pro(I think that's spelled correctly) and it is free. And if they don't have PMA installed they should be able to instal it through CLI but it just uses uses up resources when they can just execute SQL through the CLI as well. If people don't understand how to use PMA or SQL then maybe they shouldn't be trying to run a game especially since this needs the user to be somewhat SQL savvy. This script is a nice thought but serves no valid purpose. I would also also like to add that using mysql_* is pretty stone age and will no longer work in the near future or in some cases may not work currently
-
Pretty much what Peter said. The script uses a stat called "Brave" by default and it says you don't have enough brave to perform the action because you don't have Brave in your game. Just replace all instances of Brave with whatever you wish to charge the player for the assassination.
-
Hopefully I am understanding what you want but if you notice in your globals.php file you have the variable $ir declared in there which grabs the players stats and all info in the users table for that particular user, with that you can mimic it a bit and parse it using json then you can use that with any language. [MENTION=65371]sniko[/MENTION] maybe we can tackle this one? Should be pretty simple and similar to TLG

[In Prod.] Enhanced Registration
KyleMassacre replied to KyleMassacre's topic in Requests & In Production
Thank you but I haven't actually done much because lack of community interest and to be honest I don't even know where I left off exactly lol but I think I do need to get this done. If I have any free time during the week or this weekend I'll try to finish it up though -
This is a very good place. Some things you need to remember is that maybe just at these times people don't have the time or your budget may be too low. You may get someone to secure your game for $150 but in my eyes that may be a bit low and may come out like crap. For or your bitcoin implementation, if your using MCC you may try out Dave's donation module because it supports multiple payment gateways so bitcoin may be possible with that but maybe he can enlighten us more on that since I have never tried to use BTC

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your project. This is actually not in the correct spot ;) but dont worry it wont be locked or deleted. I am kind enough to move it for you so dont fret buddy. Also, where I am going to move the thread does have a template that you should look over when you are requesting services/partnership so maybe you can spiff up your post a little bit because that will actually answer a lot of questions people will start asking you. And again I am super nice so I dug up the link for you :) Rules to request a partnership

Question about making Graphics(text based games)
KyleMassacre replied to T-REX's topic in Art and Content
Yeah you could but you would make more money if you were to slice it and code it. Otherwise we may have to go to someone else and pay a separate transaction for that :( -
Question about making Graphics(text based games)
KyleMassacre replied to T-REX's topic in Art and Content
Well in reality you wouldn't need any source code of any engines listed on this forum to create and sell a template or layout. Most people here like Peter will either sell a PSD and for an extra fee he will generate the HTML/CSS for the person as well. After all it's just markup which your browser renders. But yes you can sell your stuff on here but you can have your own portfolio to show off your stuff. And speaking of that do you have anything you can show us? -
Wow, send them my way. Honestly, to go through every file which is *random number* 75+ files, could be more or less, you are looking at $200+/£116+ depending on who is securing it for you. And that would still probably be sub par. For £40 that person will probably go around and mres() or $db->escape() every in/output, and maybe throw in like one or two isset()'s. If it were me (which its not) I wouldn't go to anyone really who says they will do it for anything less than $350. Now on the flip side to that you would need to check this person's background to see if they have the knowledge to even think about charging that much. I know this forum has attempted to create a "My Trusted Coders" list but has in essence failed almost every time. So if you do decide to try someone from here do some research on them, and look at some Recent code samples they have provided. In the end it is your money and your game that is on the line so don't take my statements word for word but use it as an idea or baseline.
