What other engines are there like Mccodes?

Hi sorry if I have posted in the wrong place please move if necessary,

I am looking for an engine like mccodes for free to try out I like mccodes due to it's simplicity but I want to learn something new and maybe run a game on a wider aspect with better modifications.

Grpg is rather simple but uses old mysql_query would need converted to mysqli or pdo if used on latest php version host

Thanks for getting back to me, is there an engine where you simple install then to add new items, shops, cities etc. via a staff menu rather than a mysql query

I think it has a staff menu.

He means it's coded using mysql_* which is out of date and needs to be converted to the supported mysqli_ or pdo
