Zettieee
Anyone who does this is **** tard. Someone ordered work last night and after half the work was done, he removes me from skype and refuses to pay the small price ($15). Thus I'm putting up here. Hoping someone can get some use for this. Yes this is incomplete. I know it needs detail. But meh. NonStopCoding
mabyee you should charge a upfront fee that way if buyer backs out you still get something for your troubles its a nice design
Zettieee
Didn't think I really had to seeing as my prices are so low.
W3Theory || Peter
I posted this on FB the other day: Client hires me. Finished 30% of client's work. Client has been saying he would pay me for the past two months, but has not yet sent anything. Client no longer wants project as friends don't want to do it anymore. Client contacts me for a second project and reassures me that he will pay me for the first one. Told client "Sure, but need check for first project first." Client upset that he must pay me for previous project before I start the next one. Client no longer wants me to do the second project. The payment he owed was 550$ (for the 30%) haha So, I know the feeling too well. Edited August 30, 2014 by W3Theory || Peter
Zettieee
Wow that's alot. People should stop ordering services and not pay. :( How much is a standard down payment?
KyleMassacre
Yeah upfront fees I believe are always good. It weeds out the potential D-Bags. When I order services from people I expect to pay a 50% upfront fee at a maximum unless it's such a low price at the start then I would expect to pay the whole thing. That is also how I do my business too.
W3Theory || Peter
Wow that's alot. People should stop ordering services and not pay. :( How much is a standard down payment? Due to a lot of my clients being businesses and bigger budgets, I work off a 3 payment system: - 25% down-payment - 50% when the site is 50% completed - Last 25% when the site is done. *** We lay out all the features and what is expected to be done at the 25% and 50% mark. This way there are no surprises. And as Kyle said, anything under 100$ for me must be paid up-front before any work is done. This last guy, I started work before down-payment as he was a friend of a friend, so thought it wouldn't be an issue. Big mistake.
Raven1992
why do people do that thinking they pay up front when they can't
