What sort of games do people play now?

So I was just wondering have people moved away from the Mafia/Gangster style TBG (text based games) and gone more to the 2D/3D games or have they gone to TB (text based) football or games like that? You don't see that many Mafia/Gangster games with as much as activity as they once may had years ago. Is the fan base of TBG decreasing? If so what is an alternative for all the TBG developers out there?

I don't know, think text-based it self is a bit old school. My first computer games where text based !

And the first adventure games, had text like commands....So it's a bit old i think.

People are not sitting behind there computer these days, but watching tv while playing on there iPad or smartphone.

So, your game has to run on maybe on multiple platforms or devices to start with. But the mafia games are also a little bit boring and for kids only i think. And have to compete with Angry bird and other games.

I don't mind, just going to keep on with my financial game. It's a highly grapical 2D financial shooter ;-)

(And going to create bots, so i don't have a minimal of players needed for the game to work.)

Yeah, I knew all the new generation consoles and smartphones has a part in it, I think people are just more interested in having or seeing some sort of graphics instead of just clicking links. Where can I check out your game?

3D world with 2d sprites works. EG: pokemon black 2. Shouldn't be that hard to recreate for the browser?
