How to connect ps3 to GSM internet from a laptop?

In my apartment building there is no access to internet, so having a GSM stick is my only option. I would like to know some way to let my ps3 share the connection somehow, at least for the game updates. I run on firmware.

You could probably put the dongle into your Laptop/PC and then connect the PS3 via an Ethernet and then simply share the connection on your laptop to the PS3.

This should work, I've only ever done it with Xbox 360's.
