Cronus Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Hey everyone, thought you would get use from this tool I found in a TechCrunch article. Makes it easy to collab with people on projects, and shows who did what. Don't just take my word for it, try it out. https://www.stypi.com/cronus/CronSample Quote
bluegman991 Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 http://collabedit.com/ There's another one that has been out for a while. I've found a few good uses for this tool and can say it is quite handy. Haven't used it enough to see it's flaws, so I couldnt't say which one is better, but they seem to have pretty much the same features. 1 Quote
Djkanna Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Looks interesting, it's a shame that the 'identification by colour' is lost if said user is no longer signed in (or has that project open). Quote

I am not 100% on this though, I will have to test it out. Quote

Well, I just went back to it(logged out) and it gave me a new color. (deep blue) But, when I logged back in to my username, I went back to red, so I believe as long as you register it would hold the color. Quote

I wasn't there when 10 of them were, so I only know of 4 other people(and their colours) on this project. If those 10 aren't signed in, I have no idea who's got what colour, therefore I have no idea who is doing/or has done what. That's what I mean by identification by colour is lost, when someone is signed out or doesn't have the project open. Quote

I did submit feedback on the site for this so perhaps it will actually be implemented, who knows. Edited August 1, 2012 by Cronus Quote
KyleMassacre Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 If microsoft did 1 thing right its their tracking options in their office suite. It will show what user did one but only if they turned on tracking. So maybe these guys should take some notes and Implement something like that or create a legend of who is who and who worked on it Quote
