sniko Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) Become Civil is a fictional game with many non-fictional aspects, but we're adding the gaming features, such as levels etc. We've spent a year on theory of the game, so we understand fully on how the game will mechanically work, and we understand how players will want to learn how to play. Become Civil is based on real life, a somewhat simulation, but will come across much more than that, and much more than a typical text-based-game. We believe it will change the way people interpret text-based-games and rejuvenize the industry. Become Civil has two distinct paths, businessman or criminal, with both interlinking, and forming unique game-play. This is a world where players construct their surroundings and make the game what they wish it to be. These two distinct paths are formed in a way which will link to each other. For example, if you choose to become a criminal, or do criminal acts, you can, for example, recruit criminals, and rob the vault of a user-created business, or extort a business. We feel this will entice users to play, and interact with one another quite often, therefore increasing the amount of time they will spend on the game. At the moment, the game is in development phase, and will be for some time, as we have a lot to create, as we've had a year of theory and research. The game is being built by myself from the ground up, and therefore will stand out from the crowd as no engine will be used, and features will be unique and so on. This was a tactical decision we made, as we feel this was the best approach to development. You can stay tuned with Become Civil through various media gateways; Facebook The Official Site Twitter I will try to keep these updated, but I cannot make any promises, as I am busy with programming the game. Become Civil is being developed by Become Studios, a young company, occupied by young entrepreneurs, hoping to make an impact in both, text-based and 3D Gaming. We [become Studios] have been developing the game for some time now, around 1 year. In that year, we've been doing mostly theory work, mechanics of the game, how everything will structure, and a few mock-ups of the game itself to get a feel of how those mechanics work in a game environment, and not just on paper. We hope the community will be as excited as we are about this game! Remember, stay connected through the various media gateways listed above! Thanks, Become Studios - sniko Edited July 3, 2012 by sniko Quote

sniko Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 Some game features have been redrafted and have started development. We are extremely excited about this game, and the others running on the custom engine. Any thoughts? Also, sorry for the lack of updates on social mediums. Quote

sniko Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 How can one have a thought, if there is no registration or anything to see? True. The game[engine] is still being created. The thought statement was about the details posted above. Quote
Mint Berry Crunch Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I think you should go for more of an 'eve online' or 'e-republik' theme than a gangster/dodgy executive look. Make it an overly-liberal market paradise where everyone works in corporations, but the difference between legitimate business and crime is a fine line. I only say this because I am critical of gangster games. You should use the title logo in the first post. Just my thoughts, obviously I can't comment on the gameplay. Quote
