ShadyCoco
How many of you are finding it hard to find a job? Or keeping hold of a job? I know in manchster/ashton it's really hard to find any type of job without a reference zzzz Edited September 27, 2011 by ShadyCoco
Djkanna
It's hard to find jobs, in many places bud. As for references, if this is your first job, put down your head-master of your high school, or college tutor, or if you've worked for a friend ask them to be your reference. Good luck in your job hunt.

I just moved from Derby to Ashton under lyne so it's going to be hard to get in contact with my schools/colleges Also how come you don't come on msn anymore? :( I live near ashton, and I'm pretty sure they too have this modern invention, something call calling I do believe. (I've never heard of it before either)

ShadyCoco
The market is totally screwed right now, so the best way I have heard of right now, which not only gets you a reference, but shows you in a good light for possible employers is voluntary work. Do a day a week in an IT company for nothing or something, maybe just an afternoon or so. This way, you get a reference which glows because not only did you do work and have a reference, but you did it for free, so if you can work for free you would be great when paid ;) Also could line the path with the company you volunteer at if you show promise. Small price to pay to get a step closer to the field of work that you want to be in.[/quote Hey, I've already thought of this. I'm trying to find an opening for me. Thanks for the reply :P
