First of all I want to start off by saying I really think this template stinks but I thought I would show you guys:

Yes I know there is no game name, or fancy menu stuff but I ran out of new and am new to this so thanks.

Well, there isn't much to comment on.

Your placement seems fine, however the menu bar (holds "About" etc) seems to fall a little shorter than the box below it, whether this is intentional or not I've no clue.

I think the colour for the stats bars need changing, green just doesn't go with the rest of the colour scheme.

Stick with it.

For something like that you don't need any image, all can be done with even quiet simple HTML. BTW Limit the usage of images only when you cannot do things natively with HTML or when the HTML would be way too complex.

Gots to agree with Alain here. lots of people are going for heavy image loads on their sites (including me, but im an artist, I cant help it) I think that given your background in coding, this would be an excellent opportunity for you to show us whats possible without gfx programs. Html and CSS for layout should speed up the game and reduce server load over loading tons of images. It will be interesting what you come up with.
