acter Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 We don't do subdomains, if we were to do subdomains it'd look like: http://www.yourdomainname.w3theory.com then what do i do if i dont want to purchase a domain name??? cant there be a way out? Quote
ddgamedesign Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 To have a game site that people will take seriously, a domain name and decent hosting (read: not most free web hosts) is pretty much the minimum necessary entry point, along with a decent design and at least a few interesting game concepts/changeups on the standard MCC setup. Curt Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 two free host I know about are : byethost.com and freehostia.com - they support mccodes as i used them but since they are FREE they dont run cron jobs...if you have cash for paid hosting steer away from these free hosts.... I have heard good things about W3theory but I dont personally use them as a host. You are looking to spend roughly 13-14$ for one month hosting and a domain name. domainname = 9.99/year host= cheap as 2.99/month Good luck with your project :) Quote
acter Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 so isnt their any way i can link my other domains i mean the cheap ones such as .info or.biz to my w3theory hosting? and btw its going to be my first site! Quote
Danny696 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Yeh, there is, you need to set up the correct name servers via the site you bought it with. Quote
acter Posted December 25, 2010 Author Posted December 25, 2010 ok thanx every1 i will purchase a domain .info from godaddy.com and will purchase orthodox hosting from w3theory.com and will let u know my sites address in a fews days time :P Quote
lucky3809 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Just pay for hosting from W3Theory. Free hosting doesnt support mccodes crons, and some have in their tos that they can shut down a free account if they find any game script on their server. Ive used x10 & 000webhost for testing scripts and my accounts were closed, but now I use a paid hosting. And everything is much better then using the free ones. i would say though dont use hosting24.com the hosting sucks and very slow and sometimes you cant login to your cpanel, but that is my experience with them. I would definite go with W3Theory. Quote

hartmand Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I am using IX web hosting and I am pretty sure that they support mccodes. If you choose a web hosting provider the best thing you can do is to ask them if they support mccodes. Nevertheless I think that most web hosting provider support it but as I said ask before you choose one then you are on the safe side. Quote
