captain101 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Hey, I just found out about this site and I just wanted to stop by and let everyone know that I am making a game on facebook. I started making facebook apps because I was tired of working with someone that wanted me to just code their easy to code McCodes v2. Overall, I hate McCodes because I think it isn't the right choice for making the best RPG game. I started making a game on facebook called Mayor of a state and I know how to code a lot of things from there so I'm just letting y'all know about the game. The game is all about building your own state, buying cities, building houses, stores, trees and special items. This game is good but I have a lot of work to do and I'm still trying to get images done so I probably need help with graphics on it. I'm not all that good at graphics. I was hoping someone could help me with graphics or something and help me in the production of this game. Anyways. I didn't get the game published yet and I'm not publishing it until I finish the production and I get a certain amount of players. I will be posting images soon when I get part ways done like getting cities working and also get houses and stores built. I just need graphics for the houses and stuff. anyways. I'll post the link later. Quote
a_bertrand Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Good luck with your game and so far it seems a sim-city like game or am I wrong? Anyhow it's good to see somebody developing something else than the way too tried McCode... Quote
W3Theory || Peter Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 That sounds like a really cool and fun facebook application. I hope you will be able to get what you are looking for and wish you all the best luck on the site. Looking forward to updates W3 Theory Quote
captain101 Posted October 27, 2010 Author Posted October 27, 2010 right now, I'm trying to get the buy money/cash page finished but I have to wait till my paypal finishes the transfer so I can test the payment page. It might take a while to get it running. in the mean time, I can be finishing up the buying the cities page so people could buy the cities when they want them. Quote
Dominion Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 i thought paypal's sandbox did not need money in your account in order to work? anyways i like the sound of this post a link when you're done :) Quote
a_bertrand Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 The sandbox doesn't need any money, also you cannot buy from yourself as far as I remember. Quote
captain101 Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 oh. I am making scripts and I went to my moms friend that owns a web master company and he told me codes I have to use for paypal transfer scripts for fast trasnfering without waiting for an approval. I need to finish my facebook application so I can put it to the test. Quote
captain101 Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 alright. I tested out the buy now page for buying points or other rewards and I created another paypal account with the $1 left in my first account and I did some testing with the scripts. I got it working successfully where if you buy something, it may take up to a few days for payments to show up so on the application that you go back to will tell you that you will be credited as soon as payments has been approved and you can continue playing the game until you get the stuff you bought. I got it where you get an ID for the transaction and if you refresh the page, you will be denied for that next transaction because I do not want the database cluttered when someone refreshes with the same ID. Once I get things sorted out for the buy page and I get everything created, I will show the link to you guys and you can enjoy the game. Quote
a_bertrand Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 The payment via paypal is immediate if your scripts are setup correctly. No need to wait a couple of days really. Quote
captain101 Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 I know but I couldn't get my scripts to pull from paypal to give the credit for buying the package they want. so I had to do it. plus, some other games do it as well because I did have a lot more money in my paypal and bought something and it has to be approved. I tested everything and it took at least 15-30 minutes for the payment to process and also, the guy who receives the payment can allow or deny. There will be a page for any type of transactions you made and you will know if it is viewed, approved, or denied. I'm trying my best though at these scripts. I also have my emails set up on my phone so if someone sends me an email or if someone pays for something through paypal, I get the alert straight on my phone so I can get to the computer, approve the payment and credit the account. it won't take a couple of days for me to get to a computer as I got a 3G card with AT&T for internet. Quote
a_bertrand Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Paypal send you via a back call the transaction, the status, and the payment done. So you get everything. And this is not with 15-30 min delay. BTW I know what I'm talking about as I integrated myself my game with paypal. Quote
captain101 Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 it did for me when I tested it out. and another thing, the person who is buying the package has the option to cancel the payment. this is another reason why it is in approval mode till transaction has met the standards. If someone is credited with the package they bought and they already spent it and canceled it, then I would be forced to shut their account down till I can fix what they did wrong. That is another reason why I have the approval thing. Quote
Curt Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Hey, Interesting game you are developing :) Regarding the paypal payments, a person has 45 days from date of the transaction to submit a complaint for their money back. so not sure all the talk about an approval system ? I always thought funds send from one paypal account to another paypal account was instant...im guessing you have a different paypal setup or something... Anyway, have fun with your project and good luck  Quote
gambino Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 well. lets see what he has to say. He's been talking to me a lot lately about things so yeah. He's on my forums too and he is going to be moderator on my forums. I'm helping him out with something so you can at least go to my forums at http://gambino-army.com/forum/ and he will talk a little bit more about his game on there. Quote
gooberface1990 Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I see that the game is not there anymore. I saw it once but application was edited to being down till beginning of beginning of 2011. They said that they are converting it into a flash game. Quote
