:nth-child element problem

I am having problems with :nth-child element as i can't get it to work with IE. Any way around this?

Well it's not going to work with IE because IE doesn't support it.

Try looking at a JS solution for IE.

I am not that good with any other sulutions. does any one have a php trick that i can use to do the same job! Changing the table cell colors in odd numbers.

Well doing it in PHP is certainly not hard:

The Close(); and read(); functions don't work as it says they are undefined. How should i define them?

The code A_bertrand provided will of course not work straight out the box you'll need to edit it for it to work with what your using, not just copy and paste it.
