(((TOLK))) Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Hey all, Some of you may know me, and if you do, you'll know that I get very annoyed at the amount of incorrect usages of certain groups of words. I could name a fair amount of people who could benefit from this tutorial, so I think you might want to read it thoroughly :) There: There usually refers to a place, example of its usage: There is a brick wall; We found the dog there; I'd love to live there. Their: Their usually refers to the possession of something or someone, example of its usage: It is their car; I found their pet; My friends sold their website. They're: They're is basically they are, hence the apostrophe, it shows the omission of the letter a, examples of its usage: They're going to the concert; They're a good band; I must say, they're rubbish. Any comments or queries welcome :) Quote

(((TOLK))) Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 Sorry, just something I find annoying... You might need an apostrophe in that sentence somewhere ;) Quote
Djkanna Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 This is not needed here nor there No apostrophes for you mister! :P Quote
snailian Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 This entire "Grammar Nazi" thread became incredulous 6 words in, with the misuse of 'no' in place of 'know'. Quote
