Re: I want to make/own my own game, please help Nick, the posts above are all well said, and as an Ontarian I can agree that I do not recall any other newfs in CE. If you do need help, there are many of us that would be glad to help (Some, as Floydian insinuated, cost money for more help). Overall, anyone with a "Coders Club" badge on CE are basically the go-to people if you need help... just remember that most of them will expect that you've already done all that you can to figure it out yourself before asking for help! P.S. I just want to put this in there too....

Re: [REVIEW] Ciminal Madness I'm 19 now :) Game's going to be getting some more updates this week, possibly today/tomorrow depending on how they go. :D

Re: [REVIEW] Ciminal Madness Yes, it is... and thanks :p

Re: [REVIEW] Ciminal Madness Hehe thanks, since the new layout change a while back, and the bug-fix mayhem, with some additions the game is running cleaner, and faster by a lot. Hope to get some more reviews on it at some point, I have another game coming out for review in a couple of months, given it'll take at least a month to get it prepped for being online :D

Re: Auto-credited awards[$20] Would it help if I told you I helped him with some parts of the mod? Second, never judge a coder's worth by the security of his game. Quite frankly, you and I both know it takes more than 10 minutes to fix all the bloody bugs and insecurities in MC Codes. So that means that you're judging this guy by looking at a code you already know is started bugged. So, in turn, you need to refrain from spitting out rude attacks like that until you realize that he is NEW to the scene, and thus the game isn't going to be perfect like you seem to think it should be. Second, flaming him for price is ridiculous! You may find it easy to do an event and auto-credit, but many do not. You are not amongst this guy's target audience... so chill out and go find a mirror to pick on. @ bloodcraver - Given that I already told you I like the idea for the mod, many people may like it. Best of luck!

Re: [REVIEW] Ciminal Madness That's the sort of stuff that you need to talk to Cy about, he's in charge of that...

Re: [REVIEW] Ciminal Madness We have a whole new layout, and the loading times have been worked on quite a bit. I'd like to ask you guys to possibly check it out and toss me another review, here or otherwise. We've also fixed a lot of bugs and are working on some really cool features that should be out soon! Security's been updated quite a bit as well. Hope to see another review soon, thank you all!

Re: Texas Hold 'Em Mod Hey Seany... sounds like you're doing a terdload of work on everything, possibly including this mod. I am building one similar, though not just Texas Hold'em. I am posting it here because I want you [seany] to know that I do not intend to compete with yours, those who wanted to buy yours are welcome to buy yours whenever it's done. I've got no quams with that at all.. :) Seany's a great coder, and I respect his accomplishments, hopefully my poker setup will be at least a fraction of what his will likely be, props to you Seany! I'll have to post info on my mod in a week or two once it's a little further along :) Best of luck Seany!

Re: [REVIEW] Ciminal Madness Thanks for the review Klikoka! We'll work on the loading and such :P

Re: [mccode] Streets for v2.0 Eracing69, When something gets inserted into your inventory, it is a totally different insert than the others in your table... generally you wont have it so that it automatically groups together unless you build a mod for that. You can, however, find the quantifier mod on here somewhere, which will allow you to click to quantify your items (group them together). Hope that helped :)

What a really cool login screen! Seriously, it's a full and clean image with a nice description/hook. After seeing this, I'm actually debating skipping the stage where I go out to have a cigarette to contemplate the layout of this review. If that's not good, I don't know what is.... Well, let's register already! The register page is a little more bland, but it does contain a lot of information, disclaimers mostly to ensure their legal safety, which is smart on their behalf. When the register page asked be for my username, and pass.. okay fine by me. City to start, cool with me too, but do they really need to know my name, age and where my hometow is? Bah... lookin for trouble if I answered all of that true, so in hometown I put Not Applicable, maybe they'll think I wasn't born! Woah woah woah!! Now, see this is just not cool. If you don't understand why I say that's not cool, it's because they give you a TEXT INPUT BOX for a simple M, or F choice... in their case the code would need to be edited to either a dropdown, or if they don't like that, at least put a maxlength=1 on the input tag. Oh hey, they don't want you putting your whole name, I input "Kyle Wolfe" and it tells me a-z characters only, seriously guys... give us some specifications! FIRST name, Kyle. Okay here we go let's try that. Hurray! It's done! Oh... I am disappointed. The inside of this game is rather nothing like the login page. I would like some more graphical interface, or a different color scheme maybe. This would do for a game about castles, with all the greys. However! This, has a LOT of stuff in it. Sure it's a bit cramped, but a fairly organized cramped... You can do so much in this game, it's really quite the setup. I'm ID 22801, but somehow magically ranked, 79. Is it just me or is this game complicated enough that basically everyone just leaves. If they put an easy to find, easy to understand newbie guide or tutorial or something, I bet they'd retain a whole lot more users, and thus create a considerably more profitable and eventful environment for play. Seeing as there is in fact, so much to do I think I'll leave the actual physical gameplay experience up to you [the reader], however I can give out my rankings once I've experienced it a bit. VERDICT: Not a game I would personally enjoy playing for more than 5 minutes, but there are many people who will enjoy this turn based game, it does have cash prizes but I'm guessing that's for top player, so get your butt moving if you want free cash. Try it or not, it's a half and half situation on this. VISUAL RATING: 4/5 - So close, if you'd kept the login page idea with cool graphics and a sleek color scheme, a 5 is easily possible! GAME PLAY RATING: 3/5 (This is my personal rating, this game is definitely NOT for me, but may come as interesting to some others.)

I like the art. Straight out, first page the picture of the guy is in a nice and clean style. Well suited for the game. There's preview pictures, a nice description and the login section. Color scheme is a tad dark, but it's not bad at all. I cannot yet decide, after only just logging in, whether or not this is an MC Code game. So if it is, the owners are good... very good. The menu is what makes it feel like mc, likewise for the stuff in the header. But it's nicely disguised for the rest of it... on this page at least. Okay, after seeing a few of the pages, this must be mc code. It really feels like it is, and has many similarities... but that is a good thing, that it isn't the same. Just from the conversion of many different things, and some original modifications, I already like the idea behind the game. This is another example of "Use what you SHOW!" Meaning, the login and register, are DIFFERENT from the inside. Inside there are White/Greyish and Yellow fonts. The stat bars are solid yellow, which isn't bad it really stands out. There's a black and grey layout concept, which is pretty clean, but still I think they should have used the login page color scheme, or at least put this one out there. Within minutes I was invited to a Gang, which is really nice... gang invites and the fact that I got one so quickly. There's a persistent message for new prisoners, which needs to be set so that one's you've clicked the Tutorial button, it goes away... it's cramping the content a bit. The invite for the gang was also in an "Important Message" section, which is nice to be able to see all the events, mails and whatnot that occurr for you. Now that I've joined the Gang, let's see what it's like in there. Actually, the owner sent me a mail, and I like how it's setup. Like a real e-mail inbox. You have to open each message, and best part is, when replying the sender's message is already included in the reply box. Nice touch. Being me, I prewarned the Gang owner that I was doing a review, so that they wouldn't waste any in game money or such on me, because I really don't want someone else's gaming to be ruined or in any way inhibited by my reviews. Yes, this site does have prizes, no they're not easy to get. They had 2 PS3's up for winning, one was top referrals which has already been given out, the other is for top DONATOR... I suspect they want us to donate more than the site is worth Well, there's a lot more that I could review on, however I think I'll not do a massive essay, and cut right to the chase this time. VERDICT: Decent site, could do with some changes here and there, but for the most part I dont see any prominent bugs or issues. Visual: 3/5 Game Play: 4/5

Re: Top 5 Table for Register/Login No problem, enjoy. :)
-
Re: Top 5 Table for Register/Login You probably have it in the middle of a Print<<< EOF; yes?
-
Re: Top 5 Table for Register/Login Thanks, I might... spiff it up a bit with some styling, but for now, this'll do just fine. Your site CSS in the header should form it to your site's general appearance. :) Feel free to enjoy it, and customize it as you see fit
-
Re: Top 5 Table for Register/Login It makes no difference, it only checks the users and userstats tables, so it works on both... :)
-
Re: Top 5 Table for Register/Login If you are putting it in something that's already printing, make it look like this <table width=200><tr><th colspan=2>Top 5 Users</th></tr> <tr><th>Rank</th> <th>User</th> </tr>"; $q=mysql_query("SELECT u.*,g.*,us.* FROM users u LEFT JOIN userstats us ON u.userid=us.userid LEFT JOIN gangs g ON g.gangID=u.gang WHERE u.user_level = 1 ORDER BY (us.strength+us.agility+us.guard+us.labour+us.IQ) DESC,u.userid ASC LIMIT 5", $c); $p=0; while($r=mysql_fetch_array($q)) { $p++; print "<tr> <td>$p</td> <td>{$r['gangPREF']} {$r['username']} [{$r['userid']}]</td> </tr>"; } print "</table> That way the print that's already happening will continue to occurr

Now, this is in NO WAY an ORIGINAL idea. It was requested, and thus I made a very BASIC version. If you want a more fancy version, I'm sure you can hire someone, though it'd be a waste... just edit the table, as it's really easy. You can find how to edit a table and font on w3schools anytime. The above code goes wherever you want your table. However, make sure that if your table is going somewhere that is ALREADY in a PRINT, please take off the 'print" ' and ' ";' from the beginning and end of this code. Not the ones in the middle. You're more than welcome to try it out and play around. This is just something to start with.

Re: Free Updated Newspaper Miniman, could you use the [ code][ /code] (without the spaces) around that code, so that the page isn't extended so much? Thanks :D

Re: Amazon Survival My apologies Iso, it wasn't intended to mean that it's modified streets, but more of a similarity. Your coding on there is exceptional, and I do hope you continue to develop the game as you have been. Once again: A-S is worth checking into for sure. :) P.S. Sorry again Iso, didn't mean to confuse.

Amazon Survival Once I clicked the ad, which took me to the Amazon Survival login page, I can honestly say that the color scheme is well done. A dark, deep green is used as opposed to black, with the white/light grey text, combining for a smooth appearance with a quality that is readable and more. On the Register page, I like how they have it set up. There are different options from normal text based games, and the different options are in different colors, to make sure that you don't choose the wrong one. With human verification right there already, this game seems to be a little more secure than most. :) Once logged in, something to note is that the stat bars are on the left, and some images that you may not recognize until you need them are on the left. One is a mail image, the other a notepad, which is used for events. I'll wait until I get each of those to tell if they actually do anything, possibly highlight or something. The stat bars are different colors, which make for easy distinguishment between each of your stats, (Power, Motivation and Bottle). The layout from this page is easy to read, and not cluttered, even WITH a sponsors section in the right-hand menu, and you can add links to the right menu for customized and somewhat faster navigation. (That is much appreciated) I go into the "Jungle" which is actually called jungle.php, to find that it is the mccode explore page, just better laid out. After a second I notice that the top of the main area, just below the header has a few special links of it's own. Power Gym, Crystal Gym, Crimes, Animal Farm (I chose to be an animal farmer, as opposed to the other choice of drug farmer), Job, Zoo (Another animal farmer only thing I suspect), college and mine. If that's not easy and custom navigation, I don't know what is. When I first saw the "Train Station" link right in the middle of the jungle, I was a bit suspicious, however it does make sense when the first place that you can go is the Army Base. I suspect that any good army base near a jungle will have a train going in and out for the purpose of getting locals to join up. There are a lot of things in this game that I don't even recognize from other ones, so I'll start by trying the "Scuba" link, which brings me to a Scuba Diving page... owned by none other than "Scuba Steve" himself! Is this? Oh, it is! This is a form of the streets mod, just much better done, using oxygen which runs out faster than steps, and a dropdown rather than a button. You can either dive, or ... well nothing really. However the content in the diving is good, including finding nothing... well a bit of shark poop. :) Upon investigating my "Pack" I find that In Scuba Diving, what I thought was just idle text, was actually true. I actually HAVE shark poop AND sea weed. I find this to be more of a frill, but definitely amusing. Good show on that one! Exploring the Jungle, probably another version of streets, costs 8 power, which means you can explore as often as you have power, nice touch! Let's give it a go... After a few times, a bit of money, and a witch doctor giving me free power, I fell into a hole! Nicely done, no cheating that system. On to the next thing... Oh wait, I can't do anything else... I'm in the Hospital for 30 MINUTES! I fell into a hole, wow... I could really do with some meds if this is the type of times I'm going to be getting. Well, I guess I can do some things, as a few links are accessible regardless of hospital time. One of which is to buy Monkeys... which are slaves, interesting... nice touch... I think I will buy one when I get $1000, and another $500 to feed it. I can also seemingly get into the jungle page again, a change needs to be done here. I can buy animals from the animal yard, which are quickly recognized as the Car Racing Mod, though nicely done. F FINALLY, a page that I cannot access whilst in the hospital! Mining! After some more digging around, I'm going to make a few comments, and then my final verdict. To the owners: Great job, just a few suggestions... you may seek to make more pages inaccessible during hospital/jail time. Maybe give the users some meds to start out, considering one of the biggest things at the start is exploring/scuba diving, this could cause some issues with retaining users... if they cannot play, they wont. Otherwise, nice site! Verdict: In the end, I find this game to be a great game, if you can get your hands on some meds quickly enough, you'll find that you will enjoy this game as much as, or possibly moreso than other games of the same base code.

Re: **Trade** Im my honest opinion, this is neither a paid game mod, nor a game service. I'm unsure of exactly what you're asking for, a trade of your GW account for someone's mods? Or an acc trade entirely? In which case, I may ask, is it not against the rules? Just my two cents... - Vorlen

chosenspace Oh wow, I LOVE the background here, starry sky, well done, clean too. It loaded really fast, especially considering I'm on wireless. Text is a tad small, but once again, it could be my screen settings. Also, I'm pretty confident that no site really needs that many ads way down at the bottom. Sure, they're out of the way but if you scroll all the way down, you can have an almost entire screen full of them... that's a lot. Terms and Conditions page, wow... eye strain!! I just clicked through this, didn't want my eyes to burn up before the game actually came around. Hehe. Registration, easy enough, harsh white on black background is a little too bright, makes the edges of the text and lines blurry, but hey I can't complain... I got through the registration with my eyes intact :) Verification e-mail went to my Junk box, which wasn't hard to take it because I was waiting for it anyways. I think this is the second site I've reviewed that had a really easy to read activation key email. I'm rather happy about that! Hmm, is it just me, or is there nowhere to really SEE what the difference between the ships are... V2 Corvette, V2 freighter, V2 Miner, V2 Merchant? Sure I can venture a guess, but as my 'Starship' I would expect a little better explanation. I'll go with the Miner, because I feel like mining things today. If you don't know anyone that plays the game, leave the "Homeworld" option at RANDOM. This is obvious, because there's gotta be over 30 home worlds to choose from. I didn't count but the list is long. I'd say that's a good, and bad feature... too much choice with too little explanation can be bad, I hope the gameplay gets better than this post-registration page. Where have I seen THIS layout before? Let's hope there's at least a LITTLE difference between this one and Galactic Fleets. Oh, hey there IS a difference... this one (V2) appears to be busted. At least parts of it are. I clicked the "My Captain" link, and look at what comes up After relogging, I find that it's not the button that's broken, but the fact that your session is rather short. Don't be inactive for more than like 3 minutes, because this one really likes to boot you. After some more snooping around, I feel that it is VERY safe to say: "Wait 'till this game is finished with it's 'updates' and coding. It's a waste of time as it is. Sorry." Okay? Hopefully that helps. NOTE: If the owners of that game read this, I recommend hauling some serious butt on coding that game, given that it appears to be built from a base code, I would expect that most of the features would be ready, and this V2 version shouldn't be advertised, the V1 version (Which I have not tested) should in fact be the one that is register capable, until V2 is done.
