I have been out of the web game business for a while now so I am finally thinking about selling Best Text Games to help fund my future business ventures. I don't really have any specific price in mind, and am curious to see if anyone is even interested. My only hope is to get the site into the hands of someone that is going to keep it up, and improve the experience for visitors. I'm currently on the lookout for a game to purchase. My budget is around $500. I am looking for a game with a fair amount of activity, not expecting anything spectacular, but at least 50 users online per 24 hours would be nice. Nothing with porn. Nothing that has a terribly inflated economy and if you milked it for donator packs with sale after sale I'm not interested there either. Just a quality game that needs some tlc and some new ideas. It all comes down to the fact that you don't really have any rights. You have privileges. Really? You make me gag with these two sentences. As Peter said, since when does caring about sports have anything to do with being patriotic? If you actually cared about your country you'd be more in tune with the laws and regulations being made on your freedoms (dont care if youre in the US or the EU, were both getting the shaft right now)...NOT about some huge sporting event that does nothing but keep you distracted from **** that actually matters and actually effects your way of life. And saying that it's illogicall to not care about it since its such a large event...I don't even know how to respond to that. We should just like the olympics because so many other people like them. Since when has, "You should like them because everyone likes them", been a logical reason to like ANYTHING? What is this the borg hive mind?

$5k can get you a lot more than you think. Maybe not from you, but one could find a coder or even a team of coders willing to build a custom text based game for you with all the bells and whistles. Think India. Think Freelancer.com You'd be surprised how far $5k can get you with the right coders. P.S. It's funny that you think your time is worth $100/hr. Thanks for the laugh.

$5,000 for 50% of your uncoded game? Hmmm.. Let me grab my wallet....... For $5,000 I could hire someone to create my own game (or two or three or five...) and have 100% ownership.

You're that guy that goes to a restaurant and demands to know everyone that had a part in making your food and demands proof that they actually know how to make food..because your steak was too close to your taters. Its still steak, theyre still taters, they still taste good whether the steak is close to the taters. I'm sure your excuse is that you want to be able to show new visitors to the restaurant that they know what they are doing, however you couldn't cook a bowl of mac n cheese to save your life. As with any of your other posts I have seen around these boards, you start off in a thread by insulting and criticizing a person (not even constrictive criticism, you just say something sucks and they should quit and leave it at that), and once they get pissed you get all offended and act like you weren't being a dick before and start actually incorporating a little maturity in your posts in an attempt to make the person you just pissed off look like the ass. Sorry to tell you but we can all read and we all know that you're nothing but a prick that has nothing better to do with his time except lurk these boards for any opportunity to put someone else down to make yourself feel better about your own insignificance to anyone else visiting MWG. Although I am partly to blame for this thread turning into somewhat of a flame war for defending Cronus, I thank all of you that have stood up against the bullying and spoken out for whats right. Maybe because your idea of criticism is nothing but insults. Try giving some pointers on how someone can improve when you criticize them and it will probably be much more happily received. However I will rephrase what I said. mysql_real_escape_string on integers does not hurt anything. It is still more secure than nothing. It blocks out SQL injection that can be done regardless of whether its a number or a text string. Furthermore I do other checks on numbers to make sure they are secure. After the escape string for example, IF im using a number It is usually for money or crystals or some amount that is being charged to the player for something or another... A simple if statement.. if(is_numeric($_GET['number']) && $_GET['number'] >= $required_amount) { //do ur thing } else { //you failed }

I'm not really worried about my reputation on this forum anymore Sniko. I am utterly sick of seeing flaming in every post. All I have done is kiss ass since I came back and all it gets you is disrespected and put down. Just look at this thread. Someone posts offering their services (for far cheaper than most of the greedy coders on this board), and yet he gets bashed in nearly every reply. You're damn straight I'm raging. Is this even english? I tried looking up mres on dictionary.com with no avail. My mods work, without bugs, and the people that have purchased them have given me nothing but good feedback. This is just ridiculous. You guys all spend your time bashing people that code for MCCodes because you dislike the engine, yet none of you have created anything more successful, and half of you make mods for the engine yourselves. Hell the creators of MCCodes did **** all with the engine for how long and they are still more successful than you, I bet that pisses you off. I have set up an ad system for the site. It's not quite automated, but now when you purchase an ad (if you have an account on BTG) you will be able to see live stats for the ad including clicks, impressions, and an overall CTR so you can see the performance of your ad first hand! Currently there are 4 positions available at the top of the page, and two positions available on the voting page. PM me if you would like to purchase a position!

Thanks for your purchase Dan! I figured it is about time to update this thread with some new stats. Originally I was looking at "Pageviews" and not "Visits", now that I have noticed my mistake I can give you a better insight to the traffic of BTG. Obviously there is a bit less unique visits than there will be Pageviews. Sorry for the confusion there. I don't know how much more accurate they would be than GA, but I assume not everyone gives the analytics code a chance to load, and not everyone has Javascript. That is as much information I can disclose about my traffic stats. You can obviously see that several games are also sending their players to the site, you should be able to discern traffic from games through the information given on the site publicly (votes, visits, shares, etc.)

Which means you'll have to get a paid version or find/make an item equip mod. Might find a free one made for MC Lite that will work with a couple minor tweaks.

How about fixing that damn login system.............its getting really old having to login 5 times before it actually logs me in. eg. I put in my email and pass, click login, it refreshes the page, empties the login form, and I'm not logged in. So I type all my **** in again, and click login, and it says "Your account has not been verified"..so I type my info in again, on the third try it usually logs me in...however earlier it took more than 5 times before it actually logged me in.
