  1. Hey there guys, Just basically here to ask you what you guys have been up to, what you've achieved over the past 3-4 years or so? Still have websites up and running? Want to catch up on whats happened.
  2. Ahh very frustrating typing out a whole post and then losing it all *sighh* Oh well, ill type it out again. For those of you who know me from 5 years ago, and for those of you who have just read and caught up, I went into the business of creating a MCCode MMORPG, like many, with no experience in coding whatsoever. Through manuals and studying a bunch of different coders work, I managed to pick up and understanding of PHP/MYSQL/CSS coding. Downtown Toronto, the RPG game name I created had like many games the potential to go forward, however due to the underlying time aspect, DT was not given the care needed to bring it through the BETA stage. Having moved to Germany for 4 months I had a lot of individual time to put into the game, upon starting the International Baccalaureate, I lost time and it is only until now that I have had the time again to come back to CE, or as it was once called. I also think back to the days when I started out and there were a few things I regret doing, or I could have seen myself do better now with more experience under my belt. Things such as working out the economics of a game, not just adding modifications which may have little to no relevance to the game were just basic factors that can decipher a successful game from an unsuccessful. I also feel that I should have scoped situations more before jumping into them, had a couple of effectively 'scam' situations over simple matters I would not repeat these days. I, as bad as it may sound, probably used a few too many things from CE because I felt that would improve the game, whereas maybe instead a simple revamp or visual revamp would do the trick. These are all things I look back on and think would have contributed to producing a more successful game. My tips of advice are: -If you want to run a good game, you have to be prepared to put a little money into it. Whether this be for hosting, paying professional coders, having scripts made etc, sometimes you have to pay that $50-$100 if you know it is an investment. -Keep it simple is my best advice, don't have mismatched colours, or hard to read writing, too many tables or uneven tables. Try to keep things simple -It is always nice to add some perks to your game that are simple yet effective 'radio's Inventory' as opposed to 'Your Inventory'. -Banners - visual impact of a game has a lot to do with user base, if you cannot do any photoshop yourself, maybe try and learn, or pay the money to get some quality banners/advertising banners made for you. -Don't overload your game! -One of the biggest mistakes I think I made was being lazy, my cPanel began to swamp up with files.photos that were not being used. To the point where I wanted to delete a whole bunch of files, but sorting them out, deleting the SQLs and links within the files. Of course this has a little to do with not overloading your game, so you don't make this mistake and get lazy! -Form a relationship with your players, especially the first few who come through the game. -Active -Release once you have all the problems fixed, don't release your game publicly until you have given it a BETA stage testing. Nothing worse for users then game resets, stat resets, money resets whatever. It may take a few more months until your game is live, but it'll be well worth it. That is about all the advice I can think of at the moment. How did I get back to CE? Well i just recently bought a new macbook pro, which came with adobe cs5, office 2011 etc. I then began to get interested in design, started making some banners for fun. Next minute I found some old Downtown Toronto files, looked for CE Gamers, found this, and here I am. Currently working on a project that I predict will be ready late in the year. Any more questions feel free to ask.   (Haha, now that I get to the end of this, I realise there is a restore auto saved content which brought up my whole old post. Oh well)
  3. 3 years later and I am back. Edited this script again recently, no flaws. However this is the V1 version, can edit the V2 version with updates if required. Bump xD
  4. Hey there Guys! Has been a very long time that I have been away but now I am back. I am assuming a lot of you now would have left. If you are still interested in finding out whatever happened to Downtown Toronto, let me know and Ill put a post together!
  5. Re: [MCcode V2 or V1] raDiO's Raffle Script [$10 USD] Thanks Death_rider, in one of my functions i forgot to state the $h variable which is the means to all of those problems you stated, all that was needed was an explanation that he was infact your coder and all would have been well, which it all is. I am refurbishing the main file and will send it out to all users who have bought this. Again thanks for pointing that out.
  6. Re: [MCcode V2 or V1] raDiO's Raffle Script [$10 USD] So good to see my script has been distributed already! 9 Copies left

  8. Re: [MCcode v2] Advanced spying script [$10 USD] Thanks Voice4Vision
  9. Re: [v2] Approval System Haa nothing against it mate  I guessed your economy was stable as i said "put the trading for crystals up to make an equal ratio" which is fair enough, only thing that annoys me (not directed at you in particular but a general statement) is games that have extensive amounts of money and crystals in the game, so instead of having something cost say 50 crystals and 100 crystals, it actually costs 5000 crystals and 10,000 crystals in the hyper inflated economy. But again, im not trying to pick a fight here haa, just stating my point of view on games with that method
  10. Re: [Any]Zyzamic Network Not sure if that face is blending too well, nor the two guys in the back... Just a bit sharp...Else good work
  11. Re: [v2] Approval System   Hence if you stopped multi's from the beginning your not making an extra full time job for your staff which in effect keeps the job easy, but if your staff are twiddling their thumbs then by all means put them to work. However it could be sensible to use both scripts; being the preventing of the same IP at signup and then needing approval by staff, but i think preventing users from sending mail is a bad idea shrek, it would be in my opinion to rather restrict the amount of mails one can send in a certain time frame, i believe that would prove more effective in the circumstances. As for your "Crystals" reward situation, you seem to have a massive influx of them if your rewarding 200 each day. Its almost creating an in game Zimbabwe, meaning you have extensive hyper inflation as you've (im guessing) put the trading for crystals up to make an equal ratio, making 1 crystal pretty much worthless, which i suppose is one way to solve the problem, from a Zimbabwe perspective. Haa, I'm just picky over those sorts of things so dont listen to me

  13. Re: [v2] Approval System Approval would need to be quick else users will get bored with the lack of available options and i can probably assure you that many will leave for this matter, unless of course you have staff online 24/7. Personally just having something that prevents those with the same IP to sign up would be sufficient.
  14. Re: [MCcode V2 or V1] raDiO's Raffle Script [$10 USD] Update: There is now a Javascript countdown timer that counts down to the end of the current weeks raffle. Can be adjusted to suit your own game times via the javascript file. Slight addition to the staff panel and a whole new feature is being made right now.
  15. Re: [iN PROGRESS V2] Bank High Sealed Security I cannot remember who did it here, but someone also made a credit card script in which you needed a pin to put money in/out of the account and you could use that to buy whatever you wanted. It also had a picture with a card which showed your details.
  16. Re: [MCcode V2 or V1] raDiO's Raffle Script [$10 USD] Those who wish to buy may just PM me and i will send you my paypal address. :-)
  17. Script: raDiO's Raffle Script (Second CE sold Mod) Price: $10 USD Copies Available 12 How it works: My Advanced Raffle script is a raffle that enables more freedom for both the users and the staff. Staff have the capability of changing the price of the raffle tickets through the staff menu, users can now type in the amount of tickets they wish to purchase in bulk which is looped into the database. On the standard version (being the one i am selling), users can only buy from 1-20 tickets at a time and no more then 500 each, but this again is easily edited with guides through the coding files. Once the raffle is finally drawn, 3 winners are chosen at random (of course) and they share the earnings, 1st gets 70%, 2nd gets 20% and 3rd gets 10%. But not only this, then 15% of that raffle pot is then put back into the new weeks pot giving some incentive for users to play again. There is also a feature which enables users to witness the previous 25 winners of the raffle, they see who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd, their earnings and on what date it was at. As far as look go, it is fairly bland but can easily be spiced up to suit your own game theme. What is to come? I have very little time for my own game at the moment so it is running rather as a testing site for the time being. When i find time i will put it into my scripts. But here are some idea's that maybe you would like to integrate yourself if you purchase, or, they are what i will integrate at some stage when i get the time. Staff can add desired amounts of money to the pot if they wish You cannot come more then 1 place if you are selected twice at random Staff can view what users have purchased tickets and if so, how many Staff can re-credit money back to users if they for example, buy too many tickets, staff can delete these tickets and money is automatically credited back That is just a few ideas that i have on my mind for the future. Files included raffle.php staff_raffle.php cron_weekly.php instructions.txt 4 screenshot pictures Screenies http://i446.photobucket.com/albums/qq19 ... cture1.png http://i446.photobucket.com/albums/qq19 ... cture2.png http://i446.photobucket.com/albums/qq19 ... cture3.png http://i446.photobucket.com/albums/qq19 ... cture4.png Note: When tested i was the only person purchasing tickets which is why my username has shown up as 1st 2nd and 3rd but it has been tested with other users and all is well. Services All those who purchase have 1 year, i repeat, 1 YEAR of upgrades and services, so if the script is edited for better efficiency, it will be sent to those who have purchased. So in other words, a warranty and upgrades service of 1 Year.   I keep all the details of each purchase down to the dates, transaction id's and sites registered too etc so i can keep track of everything. Final Note Earlier in the year when i started working on this script i received some help from Floydian in creating the cron so it would be most efficient and i guarentee you will like what you see, everything is easily edited when it comes to how much each user receives of the pot etc etc If you would like some feedback on my coding skills etc, there are some replies on my other thread http://criminalexistence.com/ceforums/i ... ic=27496.0 Thankyou
  18. Re: [iN PROGRESS V2] Bank High Sealed Security Well sounds nice and good luck, just keep in mind that this has been made and posted for free, or a script similar to this.
  19. Re: Businesses Mod [Mccode V2]   If you browse each page of the thread (which i recommend), you will undoubtedly come across several fixes and upgrades for this particular script. But seen as someone else always provides the answer on this forum, i believe the below post is the answer to your question.
  20. Re: [Any]Zyzamic Network Just wondering did you get some inspiration from our name SkyFuse? Just wondering, did you get any inspiration from the company name sky? Well said sir!
  21. Re: [mccodes v2] Workout Centre [$15] That would require a lot of editing of files and not be very effecient, with a little statement into the header, you could block off every page for the duration of their workout which effectively makes it more realistic. :-)
  22. Re: [mccodes v2] Workout Centre [$15] So its pretty much another gym only you don't use energy? Maybe (if you don't already have it), you should add page blocks on the work out centre, so if you are "Working out on the treadmill for 15mins" you cannot access places such as the city/explore etc until your workout is over else its kind of pointless no? Just a way to gain more stats for nothing?
  23. Re: [mccode] Advanced Merit System [$10.00]   In effect yes, but from what i have read, you gain merits for leveling up, and i believe those merits you can trade in for "in game benefits". So it is similar but quite different to the honor system. I have one question Zero, there are quite a few merit systems out their, this seems fairly bland from the screenies, what is it (in your opinion) that makes it "Advanced"?
  24. Re: [MCcode] Raffle Script out of interest Well thanks for the feedback guys, you will hear further from me when i post the script for sale at some stage! =)
  25. Hello members of Criminal Existence, This would be my second script that i may be selling for the benefit of criminal existence members. Currently it is not for sale and this is why: I am aware that there are quite a few free scripts and quite a few Paid scripts that sell similar modifications like my own in the fact that there is a raffle or lottery or whatever makes you happy. I have seen some members of this forum stick up their nose when repeats of scripts are made. As you may be aware i have been away from CE for about 5 months now. I made this script late last year and now im asking you whether this is worth selling. So what i am here for is to ask what your opinion on it would be, whether i should sell, or whether i should not post it (not sell). Highlights of my raffle script: Admin Panel allows ID 1 to change the price of raffle tickets. However the ticket price will only change once the current raffle has finished and the new raffle begins. There are 3 winners in the raffle who are selected through a shift_array loop, 1st receives 70% of raffle earnings, 2nd receives 20% and 3rd receives 10%... 15% of the raffle pot at the end of the week is put into the new raffle as a base pot Previous 50 raffle competitions are shown in a log naming the winners and their prize for all users to browse Users can buy limited amount of tickets to prevent richer players taking the biggest percentage to ensure a win Users can specify the amount of tickets they wish to buy rather than 1 at a time... However its default setting is 500 tickets max per user and they can only buy tickets in groups of 20 (this is easily edited)   What is to come if i do sell To make the script more user friendly, the admin panel will allow ID 1 to change the maximum amount of tickets users can buy, and change the maximum they can buy at a time (eg 1-20 in the current default) Allow ID 1 to add to the new weekly pot entering desired amount on top of the 15% (Optional to id 1) General clean up of the script to make more efficient, secure and better layed out   That is the general gist of my script, it allows for a very user friendly and fun script to boost hopes and fun in your game community. Price:$5-$10 Thank you
