Re: [showcase] CriminalImpulse.com Released! New feature today, bookies. My members can either become bookies, or bet on the games the bookies(other players) have set up. You can do a spread just like in real life, a total, theres a juice, handle cap, etc etc. Bookies put in the game, the odds they want, the time it starts, the amount they are willing to spend, and they're off! The page automatically closes bets once the time is up. The keys to new addition: It's user to user gambling, so nothing in the economy lost. The users can bet on REAL sports with fake money, much better than losing real money. It's staff moderated so there is no scamming. Staff confirms all scores with very simple form. The whole update is on one page, about 1400 lines of code. Took only 2 tables in the database to put together. Oh, and did I mention, there are no crons whatsoever?

Re: New Host needed Urgently   I agree, I've used about 5 different hosting companies now. Bluehost, lunarpages, hostgator, rackspace, and now theplanet. If you are making bank, go with rackspace, they are awesome. But for people who aren't making $40,000/year from their high-traffic website, go withtheplanet. I use them now and they are awesome so far!

Features are what bring them in but I don't want a site just crammed with mods. I think most of my additions out before adding them, making sure they work with the economy and are actually useful. Advertising is also key. I advertise with a few different networks, nearly $250/week I imagine. Blue if you have any tips a pm would be great. :wink:

Re: [showcase] CriminalImpulse.com Released!   The getting fired part is only a small portion of the mod. There is a TON more that you can't see and it doesn't just use IQ and labour. Labour isn't even a stat in my game. And the sms/text sender is international.

Crons no longer externally hosted, finally run on time instead of 30 seconds late. Hi-Low now has custom card images instead of plain numbers. Gang chaining perfected, gangs now track each members respect gain/loss, how many gangs have been killed, gang wars won, respect gained in wars total, etc. Jobs were completely redone, completely custom job system that no other game has, guaranteed. You can even get fired for being inactive. SMS Notifications added. You can now put in your cell number and carrier and receive text messages when you receive items/money from others, when gang wars happen, when you receive mail, when you are attacked, or even when your energy reaches full so you don't forget to train. You can now tack messages onto sent items/cash. The message IS sent to users sms notification if they have it enabled.   Bleh that's all for now, more to come obviously, CI now stands at nearly 5,000 members.
