Well as I stated, explained, described it MANY MANY times, you should first think about what the game should be, before thinking of the code to make a game.
-
well I shall come with my own youtube on your hosting then !

http://makewebgames.io/showthread.php/38924-Review-service And yes we can check database design / optimizations.
-
Well there is quiet a difference between unlimited and 50Gb per day. So actually your advertisement is a lie. Fix it, say you allow 50Gb per day and you will be fine or really allow any kind of transfer.
-
Indeed the unlimited make me smile... specially for the given price and specially after checking the TOS: - 20% or more CPU for more than 180 sec => kicked out? ok... normal but that hardly define an unlimited - Runing game servers are not ok? Then... how hosting a PHP game? - Crons less than 15 min? MMm McCode owners: you are out in most cases - 50Gb per day means... 1500 Gb per month... not something ALL that huge, so... certainly not unlimited. Finally I hardly see why somebody should take more than the smallest package by you as... the others offer nearly nothing more on top. By the way, please check your typos (I know I'm a specialist for those but having a company with typos make me wonder) (Under free hosting "the doman shuld" => should?) Dedicated host => link doesn't work.

Can you give us the author of those?

It's limited by the hardware, the mysql soft itself, the engine you choose for the storage AND your own database design. From my own experience I must say MySQL with MyIsam is incredibly fast for INSERT / UPDATES but quiet slow for complex queries. There Oracle databases are generally better (by complex queries: group, sub queries and more). I saw somewhere that DB2 offers also very good performances but never worked with it. However, none of the databases will work with bad designed tables, not optimized settings, and bad code. So most of the time you can more than double the speed of your queries by making a good design and optimizing the settings of the DB.

Never said you should use it, and guess what, I don't use it either. Simply I was interested in those which are using it... but you are right maybe I should have added an option for those are not.

This new version of the foums is annoying

we already use something similar, the problem is a bit under. However seems that we may have a solution coming from a future release of VBulletin -
This new version of the foums is annoying

I didn't found any solution, but if some of you know how to solve it then feel free. Also, I would say, if you have a code use the attachments instead of copy/pasting the code inside the post. -
I would say this forums are on the low price for anything. Even the coding at 10-20$ per hour max is extremely low.

You don't have to pay anything for copyrights. Don't mix copyright and patent. Copyright is automatic and free, patents have to be payed. Also patents last normally 20 years, where copyright is between 70 and 90 years or even 90+life of author.
-
Copyright is automatic for any kind of creative work. Yet, you must demonstrate that you are the author of it. CSS / HTML will never be copyrighted because everyone can create the same or just copy / paste from others. On the image side it's much easier if you find your images on somebody else website you can ask the provider to shut down the site or at least you can try to do so.
-
What are the main reasons why you choose McCode instead of doing all by yourself or choosing another engine? No I don't want to hear from people which do not use McCode! No I'm not interested in those which flames it either!

Bah... again I don't agree... We should just check the rules about where the forum is hosted as this is the laws to be applied. Once we know it, then we know what to do. However I would be much in favor to release to other members all details of potential hackers.
-
Well this certainly do not help to hide your CSS. Actually S.Cosmin, nothing will prevent people to grab your images, html, CSS or even JS script, this is a sad but forced rule of the web today. We cannot compile / crypt or hide such things so, accept it or simply stop developing for web ;)
-
Indeed it depends where you are and what you do with the IP. Here saying address 127.0.01 hacked my site hardly fall into any privacy issue in my opinion. Why? Because there is a huge difference between going to a peer2peer soft and check who offer illegal stuff and reporting an hacker which tried to hack your site. At least that's my opinion. Finally, we should check NZ laws as the site is owned by NZ people not by me ;)

Sorry you are right, it was off topic and... a bit in the flaming area, my fault.

The full url: http://bbgwebgaming.com/in.php?go=42 And a month reset the 10th? Odd, very odd I shall say, but anyhow, checking nearly a full days later I see only 10 more in... which would make about 300 in in a month and far the 1.4K VOTES which for me IN and Votes are 2 different things.... Also didn't say it was inactive, just stated that I don't see the same numbers as you do. BTW checked another site of yours: http://domainagingonline.com/ And the email at the bottom is... interesting. And a quote from your explanations: "What you end up with is a collection of domains that can yield 200-300 unique visitors each and every month directly from the search engines under the keywords you need. This is traffic you would otherwise have to pay a high pay-per-click price to receive! " [sARCASM ON]OOo gasp 200-300 unique visitors each months via search engines? Ooo what a dream... Indeed I need to hire you![sARCASM OFF] Really you think 200-300 unique visitors per months is great? Sorry but I would say those are very very small traffics and certainly will not give any advert revenue.
-
The IP is not considered a personal info. So no I don't agree here you risk nothing about giving the info out. Also, if somebody tries to hack a game, I would say it is good practice of us to share as much info as possible, if this person is unhappy about his privacy then he/she shall try to attack us... and I guess he would lose as he/she started the attack not the reverse ;) It's like saying the FBI cannot publish pictures and names of wanted criminals.
-
Well, issue is that the best game received what? 34 in and 4 out in 10 days? So it's hardly a very visited top site. Also there is so many of those that I hardly see the benefit to join without talking about bugs... while calling page in.php: Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/bbg/public_html/essential/headers/inheader.php on line 6
-
Well, if you do your game based on your skills, for sure it will not be any good at first and also will not push you to learn much. But yes you should start slowly and first try to implement easy games then go further. However people which first try to learn PHP without any kind of real goal... usually fail.
-
First of all this is not toward ANY of you... or actually all of those which think which can stat a game... in the wrong way. Don't take it badly and simply continue to read and hope you will learn something. Some people came to me in the chat and asked, what do you think of this game and showed me a list of feature which had nothing incredible / unique. And this kind of chat was already for the good examples as some even start with, where I can download that game, but have not even an idea of the name for their game. THIS IS WRONG! Why? because a game which is just a list (short or long) of features (unique or not) is not a game. You may think I'm stupid, mad or ignorant, however think about it. ANY games you see / play (beside some of the most basic one) do have a start point, a goal and a way to reach the goal. The fun part of the game is to reach this goal. Now what does that mean? In most cases a start point is... like an introduction to explain the background of the story (you waked up... and discovered you are a zombie), you have a goal (you want to be back human and not keep this middle state), and ways to reach it. If your game fails to have even those it will be hardly fun. Even an hangman have them! Now the more depth you give to your plot, the more interesting it will be... till it will be too complex. Now I hear already complains like "I'm not good at story writing" or "but should I not learn first to code" or "but this is stupid I loose too much time". If you think one of those, then you may wonder instead, why should my player be interested in a game which is merely a list of links, without much explanations which do some random effect? Don't answer like "but my game will contain that feature X which is unique" that's plain lies, first of all because I hardly see a completely unique feature, second it will simply not make your game interesting. So trust me, go to an old paper an pen set, write down your ideas, explain for yourself or others what will be the background of your game THEN only THEN start to think about features and how it shall be played! Comments are welcome, as well as I would love to hear from you guys how you plan or develop your own games.
