I'm currently working on my graphics work. I am nothing special at the moment, check my gallary that will be updated when I create something. If/When you feel you have got a good grip on things and have your game in development and I may be able to help you out with some free graphics work, depending on how my learning goes also :).

I'd recommend buying a pre-built engine to start with and good luck with your learning, if you get stuck feel free to post about it.

Building from scratch, you'll have alot of learning to do.

And learning can take, days, weeks or months, but with coding you'll never stop learning.

Yeah follow DJK's advice and once you feel adequete at coding get an engine, MCcodes, NWE or wait for my team(CookieGamings) Engine will be released soon with some of the graphic features you want pre-built in. Then once you get an engine spend time messing about with it, seeing how everything works and getting used to it, this will help you alot in understanding how it works and how to code for it. Or you have the some what "easier" option of hireing somone to do the work for you, but if you want a much more personal game and a sense of self accomplishment, do it yourself. Also it will be a great learning expericence. Oh and one last thing, if you get stuck on anything there will be plent of people willing to help out round here.

Haha don't worry im still learning myself :). Yes learn HTML, CSS, PHP & MYSQL they are all important languages.

How are you at making graphics, you explained what you can't code but didn't explain your no good with photoshop or other web designing software.

What are you like with your graphics may I ask?

Was just about to challenge DJK to a match ;) but recieved this.. A first person styled, the player see's whats infront of them and a aiming cursor. I think its going to be 3D.

Map system is going to work like a large map which players can move around, objects on the map etc and for players to hide they won't be totally hidden. Say you decide to hide in a tree, which she often does in hunger games, you'll be high up in the tree but obviously people walking around on the floor will be able to look up and see you and shoot you. As I said whats there it just a basic 5 min brainstorming session, everything still needs expanding on greatly.

At times my mind often wonders and one of these times happened while watching the film The Hunger Games. For those who haven't seen this film the basic storyline that matters to this post is.. Its set in the future and after a Civil War the country is split into different districts, 1 to 12. District 1 being the richest district, district 12 being the poorest and every year they hold a competition, The Hunger Games. How this competition works is 24 people, 2 from each district are entered into a last man standing styled death match. Now what idea I had while my mind wondered would be to create a turn based game similar to the plot of this film. Basics... Having ran a through thoughs through my mind this is how it would work at the moment. The game is based on 4 week rounds. Pretty much all the time of this 4 weeks is spent training up your chartacter on a text based system with some graphical interactive features for training etc. Also in this time the better you do, you'll earn special items when entering the competition like a sword or something along them lines. After the time spent training your characters is done, you will be pitted into the last man standing styled competition but it will be district against district, so all district 1 members fight district 1 members. Competitions How the competitions will actually work is on the last day, they will be entered into the competition. When in the competition players will be displayed onto a large map, they will have to travel around this map and kill all the other players until the last player is dead, if they want to go offline they'll have to find a place to hide so its harder for people to find them, obviously it make take longer than a day for the competition to finish depending on how long it takes for everyone to die. Districts How districts will work is when you first register you are entered into district 12, the lowest and worst district which offers you the worst oppertunities, to move up districts you must win your districts competition then the next round you'll be in the district above. For people who didn't win the last 5 alive will recieve extra points for next round and the district 1 winner will win a cash prize built up by donations. Obviously this is a large project but it will be something I want CookieGaming to look into in the near future. One thing I was just wondering, as a breif plot what do you guys thing? Is it a good idea and could it work? Also would anyone be interested in joining on helping when the time comes to set it up?. Thanks for reading, Razor.

Just wondering, what do you all prefer? American Dad or Family Guy?. I myself prefer American Dad, I just find it so much funnier, some of the things that they come up with are so randomly mental its amazing, leaves me luaghing for days.

The forum is far from "dead". It still produces a few topics now and again, I guess the main problem is that MC lacks new developments and such and with this forum being linked in a large way with MC then it reflects rather bad on the fourm, which in turn, is stupid as the forum produces a wide range of webgame topics, with a wide range of different engine use and also custom engines. If you are here to try "re-ignite" the fire MWG once had thats great and I welcome you back.

I understand where your coming from, and no I do not wish to argue wih you. I respect you as a very good coder and someone often looking to give help. I would have replied with feedback had I have been given the chance to even test what had been given to me, I'm not exactly one of the people you often see on here begging for anwsers to their solutions and offering zero back and having no intention of learning.
