So has anyone here tried developing app for iphone/ipod/ipad before? I've recently seen quite a few MMORPG's both 3D and just plain text based coming to the iOS, do you think they have much potential?

Hey everyone, I have a question, is it illegal for me to use names from a game series for my mmorpg? To be exact am I allowed to use Pokemon names in my game and make my game around the Pokemon series? Thanks Rachit

The requirement to enter also states that it has to be a tex based game, so here we are giving an opportunity to the contestant to make his next game a 2D game, also the NEaB engine offers a lot of customization so you are not stuck to any one kind of game

The contest is for people who want to use the NEaB engine, but the reason we are limiting the participants to only game owners is because we dont want to just give the engine away and not see anything done with it, we want the winner to be someone who has experience with games and will put in the work required to have a unique game up and running

Okay C++ question, I have made a banking program, a library program and a random number guessing game all small projects in different files. Now I was windering is it possible in C++ to make a central file which will call these files? I'm thinking maybe a switch statement and if you input 1 it will call the banking program if you input 2 the library program and so on, can someone tell me if this is possible and if it is what is the code to call another file?

In my theory paper I missed ' ' and I lost 2 marks straight :P Oh and the difference between == and = also manages to confuse me everytime :P

I see, do you think right now it would be more important for me to concentrate on c++ concepts like classes objects pointers etc or take a quick swing at data persistance?

I didnt mean database as in for web development, I meant to store the information locally, right now for my bank program for example, what happens is that I input user details etc but once I switch off the program the user details are lost.

Alain I know uptill structures in c++ and I can make basic programes like bank managment etc, what should I learn next in c++? Classes or how to work c++ with database?

The problem I face now is that you are allowed to enter in only one category of the competition, so if I enter in lets say Fashion, I wont be able to put up anything related to IT.

Hey guys :) Okay so there is this competition coming up in my city called the young entreprenaurs competition. Its basically that you setup a stall in this mall and the stall that earns the most wins. Teams of 4 are allowed to register. Now I was thinking of selling website dev packages. Now what this would include would be a .com/.net/.org website with hosting, wordpress installed and a theme installed. Although this all sounds simple for anyone here, i'm sure it would not for a non-developer. I had all the finances planned out and after registeration fee, hosting fee, domain registeration cost, my calcluation gave me a profit of 100Dhs per person, if we managed to sell our package to 10people per day for all the 4 days of the competition. Now I was speaking to my dad about this and he said that he does not think this would be a success as there wouldnt be much demand for a website by a person after the advent of social networking sites like facebook etc. I wanted to know what is your opinion regarding this? Hey guys :) So I have this domain and I really dont know what to use it for, its called iappinventors.com I was planning on setting up a small team of ios developers but gave up on that idea due to not having any time. Now I'm thinking of using this site for maybe a forum for ios developers? I'm not sure yet, does anyone around here have any good ideas to what i could possibly do with the site? Thanks Rachit
