  1. I was having trouble with a mod i purchased from seanybob a while back, i could not find an original copy so i went to his website http://seanybob.net to mail him. Seems he completely revamped his website and has a lot of information there about SQL injections and such.... He also posted the source for the Texas Hold'em mod and the flashgames with highscores along with other mods... Im assuming he is giving them away since he freely posted the source...   Any one else notice this ?...

    McCodes Lite

lol...opps i did not notice page 2...lol my post is pointless....:P
  3. I got the "This Connection is Untrusted" aswell so i will say i must pass on this one....but thanks for sharing it :)
  4. lol...ah well in that case, Im glad the move went well :D
  5. I used the Timestamp mod by Haunted Dawg as well in the beginning and still do now for a few updates.... I didnt really have any problems with it until i started having 10+ people online at the same time....the timestamps would tend to update multiple times... such as every 5 minutes instead of 12% energy regain, the player would get 24% or even more... This could have just been a problem generated from my edits to the script but after that began happening I switched to crons... You can pay an external company to run your crons for you, but what I hear from others is that its a waste because you still get all the server load from the cron as if you had it set to run from your own server...   Good luck getting your issue taken care of :)
  6. i hope the move goes well :)
  7. hey shiniobi, what version of mccodes are you using ?...this mod was made using mccode v2 but could be converted to V1 easily.. Also I will update this mod so that players dont enter an amount of times to search, instead it searches all turns when they visit the page instead.
  8. ah i understand now...yea the userstats table does not have an index.. thanks for the greatly helpful advice :)
  9. Hey everyone, I recently enabled slow query logging so i can pinpoint troublesome queries.. I seem to have some select queries from the HOF script that are examining like 17mill rows for some reason... I have reviewed the query but cant figure out why it would be doing this...I even changed the query around a bit... here is the query: SELECT u.userid,us.strength FROM users u LEFT JOIN userstats us ON u.userid=us.userid WHERE u.userid!=1 AND u.laston>0 ORDER BY us.strength DESC,u.userid ASC LIMIT 50;   I dont understand why its examining a huge amount of non-existence rows... anyone else had a similar problem ?

    Timestamps

lol...my mistake about timestamp()....you can use either time() or unix_timestamp()...both do the same i believe... to display how much longer they must have you could use some javascript or php.. something like : $TIME=time(); $TIMELEFT=$r['time_stamp_here']-$TIME; Now the $TIMELEFT will equal how many seconds are left before the time is up. Now to display how long do something like this : $TIMELEFT=$BTIMELEFT; if ($TIMELEFT>60) { $TIMELEFT/=60; $TIMELEFT=abs((int)$TIMELEFT); $STIMELEFT=$BTIMELEFT-($TIMELEFT*60); echo "$TIMELEFT Minutes and $STIMELEFT Seconds left !"; } else { echo "$TIMELEFT Seconds left !"; }   Thats how I would do it... hope that helps you out :)

    Timestamps

Hey, Timestamps can be used for a variety of things. They can be used in place of cron jobs to update the users every 5 minutes/hour/day.   Here is an example of a use for timestamps:   You want to allow players to be able to mug someone once every 15 seconds. First you would need to set the current time: $TIME=timestamp(); Next you update the users table with this time: $db->query("UPDATE users SET mug_time=($TIME+15) WHERE userid=$userid"); Next you make an if command to check if the current time is more than the time you set in the database: $TIME=timestamp(); if ($TIME>$ir['mug_time']) { // 15 SECONDS HAVE PASSED echo " YOU CAN MUG AGAIN !"; } else { // 15 SECONDS HAVE NOT PASSED echo "You cannot mug right now !"; } If the timestamp is greater that means 15 seconds have passed and the player is able to mug someone again. Hope that helps you a little...im not the best at explaining things but i tried to be as simple as possible :)
  12. Hey, Of course what you are saying is do-able but it will require some knowledge of PHP and MYSQL to code it. You would need to create a seperate table to store the data for the items that level up..such as the weapons level and weapon exp. You would need to edit the attack script to give exp to your weapon when you attack. if you are using mccodes then look in the global_function.php file and find the check_level() function. You could use something similiar to that to create a function that checks and updates your weapons level. I'm sure I left out some details but that should give you a couple steps in the right direction :)
  13. This is an easy one :P first off you must define $db as a global variable if your going to use it.. also "what goes here" is $userid which is the persons userid...lol hope that helps Curt
  14. ah gideon prewett yea thats a good idea...lol...i updated mine to do this already :P
  15. Want to say nice mod. I added this to Thug Battle with no problems at all. Nice work :) cheers, Curt
  16. First off I want to start by saying good luck with your project. Also as a_bertrand says if you dont have clear ideas of how you want your game developed then its too early to begin the development process. If you plan to start this project 100% from scratch it will take a bit longer than 1 year of development unless your a skilled programmer and have many hours each day to work on the project. Since mccode is very popular and there are many, many games based from there codes I would suggest using/creating something different if you really want your game to be unique. Im not saying there are any problems with using mccodes( I have two games based from these codes) Its just not the best if your going for something new and original.. Also a tip, start off simple and build from that. If you plan things that are too complicated or takes ages to complete, then you may loose interest overtime and ultimately the project will fail. Another thing is dont overwork yourself...you will get burned out from your project if you work on it too much...it took me a few months of heavy work on my game before I finally had to take a week or so off...lol This was because it was not as exciting to me as it was when i first started...and I began loosing interest... So take breaks occasionally :) Have fun working on your project and best of luck :) Curt
  17. they did bushidobattle.com for me for around 350$ i believe...which included login and ingame and the html for it..
  18. ah...i would recommend bluetrendz.com but they are not too cheap...lol they do nice work tho ;)
  19. ah no luck with peter ? he did corruptcity.net and it looks pretty nice :)
  20. you find the area in the script where you complete the crime or training and simply add a query to update your exp aswell... Its pretty simple... You will need to come up with an algorithm to calculate how much exp is gained. a query would be like so :   $db->query("UPDATE users SET exp=exp+$EXPGAIN WHERE userid=$userid");   Hope that helps, Curt
  21. Your welcome :)
  22. ah thanks for pointing that out ;) Top post updated :) Enjoy the mod guys, Curt
  23. hmm....not sure about that... {$cs['cracksafe_pot']} is the correct vairable.. I just tried it and the mod works fine for me...
