Are you asking what the mccodes “bugs” are or just what a bug is? :whistling:
-
Something to show this happened rather then just calling him names? Something to show that's the same person, and not just the same name? That does happen I have known others to use names I use. Not saying you're lying, but people really need to start showing something solid when posting here...

For $1370 I will secure the copy you already have :whistling:

Really if you can't install don't use it. No offence intended but it's rather easy following instructions from a text file. Anyway... Warned you before about multiple topics on this same subject a bump would have been fine...
-
For what? Posting on old topics That would be due to how often you do it as well. Most of your bumps are not constructive in any way towards the topic in question. :whistling:

Mccodes Lite - What happened to the re-code?
Dominion replied to Rasheed saeed's topic in General Discussion
mwg is well over ½ mcc based posts... @Paul I never said stop posting in the mcc based areas, just you don't have to if you dislike them as much as it seems you do. @Jordan you said yourself it's a discussion not really immature if there all valid points... -
Tutorial: v2 - v1 Conversion Tutorial: v1 - v2 Conversion makewebgames does have a search feature (top right) please use it. ;)
-
Advert experiences and feeback No offence, but please make your posts a little more informative... For example in this case what's your theme? Target audience? Etc... Would help a little.
-
May I suggest finding a more constrictive hobby? ;)

In all honesty you can learn this from a good book or even online depending on how you are with sites like php.net... If you have any trouble learning ask questions, and people will (in theory) be happy to help. Care to give us an idea of what you know? Example of functions etc... meh nice to see people learning.

Mccodes Lite - What happened to the re-code?
Dominion replied to Rasheed saeed's topic in General Discussion
As I said it's mainly due to free support that is around for it. No engine of this kind can compete with it community wise. You can't say mccodes has not drawn at least some good programmers here, and by doing so allowed free support in some ways. I do feel mcc owes allot to md... Not like he did not help keep it going. You don't have to be. Giving members a push to at least learn away from the engine in the right thing to do in my opinion. paul is in a way correct, if people started to notice more happening with the other engines they would look, and most likely shift to them, however it's hard to gain interest in them with so many free mods for mcc. -
Why do I keep seeing php, and php “security” as separate things to learn... They are not so I don't really understand this - care to explain what kind of “Security” you know? Unless you mean learning new parts of php? since there is allot of it... If that's the case it will take years not months, and it's doubtful anyone will ever master every part of php from memory.
-
How what works exactly? (And don't say security...) So do you want to know how built in functions run or the logic behind checking user input...
-
I am confused... You want to learn how to secure, and hack/exploit a site without learning anything?
-
How is he going to upload files to do the query updates... My point was using phpmyadmin does not make someone a noob...

Mccodes Lite - What happened to the re-code?

It's made by yourself... everyone knows the ins, and outs of their own work. The fact you find it easy to mod your own work is nothing special... The patches would not be something I would bring up lol The mcc community is still bigger then any other engine based community smaller yes, however still bigger then any I know (around one engine anyway)... v3 I know nothing about, however I believe Jordan is not working on it. since this is not a thread made by an mcc member begging someone to recode it that comment is wrong. Owning mwg did not necessarily come from mcc's online founds I am sure they have some kind of jobs... They must have earned a fair amount when v2 was $300 just 20 engines would be well... you do the math ;) Ezrpg is very easy to use, and has a fair few mods on it's own sites forums, however I believe it's held back a little by smarty. Still a very good engine. Zap I am not really sure about, seems easy to me, however the set up is unusual so could be that... Grpg never really looked at. Same with Horizons. Wayofthemafia Just seems bad, however not looking into it much. Mcc has the same issues they all do would be easier to add things to it then to zap engine/ezrpg if your new... Well then do what many people do... Stay off the mcc areas of the site, and contribute in other ways, or even give support to people without taking every opportunity to post random attacks on mccodes. As you said mwg is more then mcc it's a community of gamers/owners so give advice out, and add worth while content rather then this useless crap. Here's a suggestion why not make some mods for a few other engines, and get people to look into zap/ezrpg or whatever engine you feel is best? Why not do some posts about general php, and explain something there are not many posts on? I am not defending mccodes, however content like this on mwg is not really helping... -
Backup would still be easier again in my opinion, however it's not really my opinion that matters here. As I said would be easier to do that via phpmyadmin's “sql” tab still code just avoids the file creation. ;)

Mccodes Lite - What happened to the re-code?

Not always take ezrpg, and zap engine much better yet under used. What about gangster legend ready made free game yet people use mccodes v2 over it (due to free mods undoubtedly). What people seem to fail to grasp is just why people go to mccodes it's got the community, anything you make will not take off for some time, and if it has that little boost at the beginning odds are it will be people from mwg already using mccodes... In all honesty people seem to fail to see the one main reason mccodes is used, people are to lazy to learn themselves. All that would happen if you released a game engine with 100's of free mods yourself would be you wasted allot of time. Best thing to do is get a board here, and try to get some developers working on mods for your engine. Once you have a small community it's then time for your own site. Mccodes has four main selling points 1) ready made game (for lazy people). 2) community support with people always willing to help why learn? (not my view but people can see this viewpoint in some members I am sure.) Even you who seems to dislike them stick around for money (I think anyway...), and help people out now, and then. 3) Free mods. Also linked into the community, this means very little time is needed to get a site online, and give it a tiny little twist. This makes “noobs” believe they have something no one else does (wrong or not). 4) Easy to just include 'globals.php'; and start a mod with basic php knowledge. The fact is a secure engine that can make use of mccodes mods would kill them IF it got the right exposer, and people behind it. As for this comment - Most people tend to use the static “left menu bar, explore page, bars for everything” look for text based games mcc or not. Users won't be able to see the base itself... that, and I said some compatibility not copy their rather bad version (or style whatever you wish to call it) of php... -
phpmyadmin is an easier way...from what you're saying Paul I assume you mean upload a file that does the sql for you? Pointless in my opinion... write file => upload file => run file => delete file (if you have not used unlink() ) OR load phpmyadmin leave it on “sql” tab...
-
Well assuming Grpg is using paypal here is the ipn stuff they provide https://www.paypal.com/ipn .
-
Why could the user not just hand a backup over, and you do it on something like wamp? If it's not secure the site should not be up anyway so not an issue with downtime... Would rather do that then allow someone to see everything on my account. :whistling:

Mccodes Lite - What happened to the re-code?

There are merits for going both ways. Creating you own would mean it's small, and not used by many for some time. Then even if it does take off you still need to be the one controlling the license etc... Well unless it's under the GPL anyway I guess. Going for a lite recode gets your name on something many newer members will at least look at, therefore making use of mccodes “reputation” (take that word how you will with mcc....) . Then again you could also create your own engine with some mcc compatibility so it works with mcc mods (the main advantage mcc has over any other engines) so like I said you could look at it from both sides... -
There are peoples styles then there’s doing it wrong, for example not securing a $_POST[''] at all is just bad practice, and hardly correct way to claim something is secure (short of me not knowing something since we can only see one line)...

If it's a free host they won't allow crons most of the time. [any version] Removal of 1 minute crons

It's rather dangerous to use unchecked. Look into things like explode (and other functions to split the string up) first. I always try to avoid using to due to it's rather obvious flaw of allow any php to run user input or not. As i said if you go that way make sure it's checked by something.
