Why are you selling? I mean if you have put that much money into it why sell at a loss rather then advertise, and try to make it work?

I have one by Mtg somewhere on my computer (would need to look). There are a few free standing ones around as well if your willing to integrate it. Anyway, if no one has a copy of this, and you want it I will dig mtg's up. It was free so I assume it's ok to pass on (I will check once I find it of course...).

Why is having people you work with sign a contract funny? Unless I am missing something here normally having a signed, and legally binding deal would only serve you if anything went wrong... P.s – I did not read the full first post, could be why I missed a joke? :S

It does if you spend time testing for errors yourself. This does require some knowledge, however it does give something. This is why I said about have to post a free mod first. Well I agree there is not a set “standard” it is more then possible to see difference quality from two different codes. It is only php, and php does have some standards on how to deal with things. That is a big issue, however also could easily be solved by allowing people to see previous work. All the user needs is an example of who they are buying from. Short of seeing the whole source to the mod they are buying we can not stop bad code being sold, however as I said before it needs to ultimately be a users decision what they buy. This is why posting something first could help. ;)

Well what about a more simple solution in the form of us having to enable any posts in the paid mods section? What I mean by this is simple, if we feel that a post has not got enough description or lacks screen-shots and/or a demo we don't enable it. Mwg has the feature as it's already in use on a few members. Failing the ability to post a demo or sufficient evidence of quality they then have to post a small snippet. To be honest the easiest solution would be to say you have to post at least one free mod (or something on the forum) to show you capabilities before being allowed to sell if you can not provide a demo. In my opinion anything we do should still allow the users the ability to judge the mod for themselves. This is why in my opinion a snippet , demo or previously posted mod should be available for the member to view the quality in code.

Same principle. If the packs are there, adding money etc for the one using it, you can simply use the item_add() function that mcc already has to also give an item.

It will take more then an attack system to get zap engine ready to be used as a full game. With no php/mysql knowledge any path you take will mean paying out money. The difference between using mcc or zap/ezrpg has already been pointed out. As for the question it depends who makes it...

In the send functions make sure you update “new_mail” (in the user table) of the one receiving the mail.

Yes, and no. If this patch is any good it would negate that issue. I would wait for that. As for it being cheaper for another engine for mwg that is true, however many people put the price up on engines that don't have the same support simply due to the limited options someone with no php knowledge would have.

Any free/paid engine will have this issue. It will always lack something you want. That is why you should learn or as paul said go with mcc. If you go with mccodes have a lot of money ready to pay people for mods otherwise you will end up with "yet another mccodes game".

What you say about support is sadly true. Some people on here, that actively post, would (I believe) give support for any engine. Ezrpg has it's own site with a forum that has mods etc that were never posted on mwg. Not sure how active it is, but worth a look. As for the original question it's the same kind of stuff you would need to fix on any mcc version (less of it since it's a smaller amount of code). Takes going through it, and checking a fair amount. On top of that you also have licensing issues involving copyleft. I will see about finding the post that explains it. Edit – Have a look at this topic, and some of the issues. Nor are the paid ones available for download well done. The “patch” is not yet available. I would look at Danny's or even better look into Ezrpg/zap engine.
