Cpanel is just that – A control panel. If you have the stuff to run mccodes you can run any engine I just listed.

So this illegal game using Ravan Script is active and has a player base? My question then is if Ravan Script is a complete rip off of mccodes can he simply purchase a valid license of mccodes and then continue to use his current engine? Seems it should satisfy all parties involved as long as any reference to Ravan Script in the engine itself is edited to reflect mccodes.

The template is someone else’s as well, but yes if all copyright material is taken out. People have gone down this road, and there is a thread about it somewhere on Makewebgames.

im backing up all the data from my cpanel now going to give it a shot at using a different engine if not then go back then get a better script

Sorry i missed this post, but yes you may lose your players. What i suggest is working an import script e.g if both have "money" Give the users the same amount they had well on this current engine. Would take a little work, but is more than possible.

Wow, that is all that came into my head. Just, WOW. Ok I have admitted plenty of times I know squat about coding. (still trying to learn.)

I have even admitted I purchased a copy from raven. Heck it was $15 bucks or less. But once I found out it was pirated, did a carp ton of research to verify it, I purchased a legal license for McCodes.

I am going to enlighten a few things for people that have been hinting at.

If you use stolen code (or images) you can have your site shut down by outsiders. The legal owner can sue you for all the money you made PLUS damages. This means anything you made and you will go into the hole for (depending on venue) up to SEVEN times the profit in damages. It would be a crying shame to make a thousand dollars on your game that is just stolen script, then end up having McCodes sue you and take Eight Grand from you in court. (Not saying mccodes would but they COULD).

I do not know if McCodes is still doing it but they were giving a discount off of the price of the McCodes engine based on how much you paid Raven, and you would legally be able to keep running the Raven script.

I do not think this kid will be able to get it as he stated it was "given" to him. So basically he in legal speak is the "receiver of stolen goods".

I sound harsh and I mean to. This is not playtime. When you put your name on the web, and are trying to accept money, then you are in the real world with real consequences. Yes, you can even go to prison for fraud if the case is sever enough.

Before you accept your first pay pal "donation" you have better checked with your local legal offices to make sure you are not going to be in violation of any local ordinances. If your in the US, you better have a Tax ID Number for a business, (free from the IRS), and a business license from your local county.

It would be a shame to spend hundreds or even thousands of man hours on your game only to end up in jail for tax evasion or theft or fraud.

Now I am going to say something to OP specifically. Seriously dude? What the fish? You basically asked everyone on this website to think what would be good for your game, tell you about it, then give it to you for free, then tell you how to install it. This community is one of the nicest I have seen considering what they will help you with and what they will give you of their valuable time. But, you are really pushing the envelope there. I recommend you find the free modifications threads, look through them and find a very easy mod to start with and install it. Then work your way up to more advanced modules. If/when you get a legal game to run, as the owner you will either want to know how to do the very basics or be ready to pay a professional coder to work with you. Asking for help is one thing, asking them to do it all for you is quite another.

Do what I did...I unfortunately am one of the people that went for the ravans script, BUT when I found out it was an illegal copy of mccodes I bought an mccode license, I don't want an illegal game and neither should you.

Plus there are so many exploits in ravans script as well as the code being changed so that regular mods have to be darn near recoded in order to work, I cant quite code fully yet, but unlike you I DO want to learn it, and I am coming along nicely. I have fixed several issues with ravans script including a display pic exploit where anyone can make themselves an Admin as well as getting rid of all the images as they belong to mafia corruption. Granted it was a quick fix as I have not learned security...YET. But anyway, I have my license, so for the time being I am running ravans (although you can barely tell from all the changes I've made - no mafia corruption images - lots of link and table edits) and I have my test server running in which I am building from the ground up using my v2.0.3 codes. Once I finish I'll switch over to it so I can get rid of ravans completely, as it is a crap script if you ask me.

Edit: oh and i got NO discount because i bought ravans first, saw no information on it at all.

You can use raven if you have an MCCodes license. But as said before, you may get into trouble for using the layout. If you buy raven, and recode it, you will still need to buy MCCodes because after all, it's baser is always going to be MCCodes.]

They sell it to make money, not everything on sale is there legally.

As for “recoding” you may as well start from scratch if you're going to do that...

ok i am of sick of people coming and asking people to do everything for them, i was a noob once and i knew asmuch as this guy but i worked at learning

it took me about 2 days just to get mcc on to my server but i didnt come begging for help or getting peeps to do it for me

its people like this who makes it when genuine noobs who are asking simple questions get their heads bitten off because people think they are begging

i personly will point all members like this to coldblooded and see what happens allot are like 'whos that' and to me that says it all

my advice is

NEVER relice a game to the public if u dont know how to code you are asking for trouble and stress hell i did and i now have a peptic aulser from the stress of it

so learn to code and get a valid licence or a free engine

but most impotantly LEARN TO CODE AND STOP TRYING TO GET US TO DO EVERYTHING FOR YOU

I just wanted to add something to this thread, as an independent web developer, I am disgusted with the way people come on here with their stolen scripts, then they beg for free mods, then they create a game and get money from the game but they give nothing in return. The actual people who did all the coding of the game and the mods deserve the money for the time and effort that they put into creating the mods.

Aside from the hours, days, weeks and even months of time spent creating these scripts, the developer spent years of their lives learning to code and some bum wants to come around and get everything for free or steal the work and suck in that money for themselves. All I got to say is that is just despicable and disgusting.

At least once you start making money off of your stolen goods, come and make it right with the actual person who created it. Even if you can't afford the entire price, shoot the programmer a few bucks and say "hey I wasn't able to afford your script at the time, I found a copy, and made a few bucks I am doing all I can here, but I will split the profit with you until I have paid you what I really should have paid you from day one"

I will guarantee you the programmer will respect you for considering the hard work they put into it, and all will be good!

Then in no time flat you can be legit and you won't be a scuzz-bucket!

I really cant see you getting any help for Raven mods on here concidering its a knock off copy of MCC so i think im going to let this thread goto bed and close it :)
