galdikas Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 So I am now creating few markets. So traditionally it will be something like this: No. Seller name. Price each. Total. In my bonds market I have it like that. But in donator passes I have got rid of Seller name column. Why? Just to make any guys trying to illegally transfer items over markets harder (I still have IP blocks in place)... What do yous think about this? I mean not listing the sellers name in the market? Would this have any negative effects in game-play? I know its kind of a silly question.. It is just that in every game I have tried, in any player 2 player trading, you will always see who is selling the item. Seller would still get event notification that someone bought whatever he listed. Quote
Lee Mason Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Sounds fine to me, as a buyer you don't need to know the seller. As long as the product is there. Quote
Dominion Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) Why would they not just arrange a strange amount to buy? E.g. “my listing is the follow 2010987” <- specific number makes trading easy even without a name. If it's something like an item market then it's still going to have workarounds... or the more common way via a gang's armory. Why not allow actual player to player trading? The logs will make multiple accounts much easier to spot. I assume you're logging the market buying/selling ip anyway? Edited May 24, 2011 by Dominion Quote

But we have to do all we can to make them harder ;) No gangs in my game.. Not MCC, i code from scratch :) So I will try and think of different system. And I have a couple ideas to prevent the " E.g. “my listing is the follow 2010987” <- specific number makes trading easy even without a name. " .. . There will be player to player trading as well :) Quote
W3Theory || Peter Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I feel like the no name is very good, as someone can post and not have to worry about getting attacked as soon as someone buys the items. That is if you do not have a system that the cash goes right to their bank. But I think it is a good option. Quote

Curt Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 i would suggest creating a Universal-Market. Instead of a market for points, and a market for items, and a market for this and that, just merge all the markets together...So a player could post points, items, ect on the same market... just a thought ;) Quote
galdikas Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 @Peter. I was thinking of having that. But this feature will have to be earned by accomplishing certain things :) @Curt. Only Bonds and Donator Passes will have their own markets :) All the rest will be universal market :) Quote
galdikas Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 ok... http://www.galdikasproject.com/market.php Here is market here. To further combat any illicit transfers, would it make sense to only show 20 or 30 cheapest items of each type? That way you cannot just put something cheap on market for silly price, just in order to buy it with your other account? Or would yous consider only seeing first 20-30 items as poor design/gameplay?? You can click on the link.. you will be able to see that page even if not registered/logged in.. :) Quote
InternalExpertCoding Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I like the idea of not submitting the users name to the trading market. As one said above, it keeps user's from being attacked immediately after the item is bought. In my opinion, I would create a preference to turn on/off the option to link your username to the market. Simply because, Some user's will only buy to help out other user's. So, therefore, an option would be nice to have. Quote
