OMG! Orgasm.

Brilliant work to your team members. :) - I myself iz looking forward to this game.

Thank you, I've been pushing the team as much as possible to get client work and our own completed as quickly and efficiently as possibly. I'll try and keep you updated with new things going on with the site.

The handle on the revolver isn't very detailed, and the RPG isn't as detailed as the other guns.

Other than that, I like them :D

Our game is intending to have over 100 items so we wanted them detailed but didn't want our team spending 5 hours per an image. So we kept them basic but nice.

But the other ones look so detailed, all that's wrong with the revolver is the handle and the RPG doesn't have a lot of detail, they kind of seem out of place.

But they are good

I deal with these kinds of images all the time in my 3d renderings. While they are great, they look just like the same images you can buy on other sites for $3 to $5. I personally think it would be cool if you were going to take the time to draw up custom images that they looked different from "everything else" otherwise just spend the $3 to $5 and save the 5 hours. They are still good images, just nothing out of the ordinary.

First, the images displayed above are, as they should be, vector images. They can of course be scaled at any size without loosing any quality. This does not make it, a 3 Dimensional object render. 3D objects are usually designed from rearranging linear shapes and textures to create an object, these guns, where hand drawn, illustrated and enhanced. If you can link us, without just telling us, please link to a site that can provide these for anything near the professional development quality displayed. You can buy cartoon guns which are much less quality for $15 as a stock but there not at all unique. Can assure you, these do not look identical from other drawn images, as they where derived from real modern weaponry. InfantryX is a realistic game,so all of our guns can actually be found in the world. The design is out of the ordinary for some images found here, so I think it actually is, and there not suppose to look...out of the ordinary. It's a military game, not a made up sci fi rpg.

In all honesty, I would have to agree with Lilth here. Though they do look nice, I would have to say they are pretty close to the same kind of images you could buy for a low amount. I would of thought of something more creative with the way Infantry X was going, but good luck. They still do look nice.

Nice job, but 5h work/item would drive a price tag to $75+/image, which will make the game development process also way more expensive.

while similar exists way cheaper and shouldn't be difficult at all to recolor/shade/etc

A RPG is still a RPG nothing much will change it except coloring.

Example, recolor the metal parts to gold and call the item a Dictator RPG. Similar as there are gold AK-47s on the real world market.

Again, the generic part of a RPG gets voided, it all depends how it is presented ingame.

Some cheap software is also pretty good to render and export to 2D

eg. (this render costs $6 at http://www.forender.com/real_weapons )

Hahaha, BGF stole my thunder here! I was going to post some of the 3d renderings of weapons that look just like the ones posted here... oh, and exporting the png to corel10 and hitting the vectorization button is pretty simple to do and still looks great, and you don't loose scaling, but thats the whole point of vectors right? You asked for a link to $3 to $5 images ... Anyway, I still believe the images are great, just that you are wasting resources and I expected more from the developers of infantryx. As far as making sure that you are using "real" type weapons for a military game, When is the last time a Soldier carried a six shooter aka revolver? Try a 9mm baretta for a side arm next time, BTW, ill sell you a high quality image of one for $5.

We are using realistic weapons but we are creating a huge list of weapons and then filtering the ones we want to use in this game and the using the others in different projects. The final list is a long way of from being finalised. If I have resources I wouldn't be wanting to purchase one of your renders or images. Thanks for the offer but the answer is obvious.

We only replied on your partner question 'please link to a site that can provide these for anything near the professional development quality displayed'

So I posted examples and a link to forender.com that has superb quality at $6 avg, personally I wouldn't spend the time on 'hand drawn' for something that is so widely available at pretty cheap prices , you do use real world weapons, so it's pretty generic as item, just quality of the item image could differ.

Meh, your loss. I can create the same thing in about 20 min vs your 5 hours, $5 value for $75 cost. But there is a lot to be said for pride. If you only wanted posts like "OOOO great images", or "Thats so awesome", Don't ask for people's views on the images. If you cant stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Sorry I wasn't aware he said that.

I was asking for peoples view not for people to try and sell me items I don't need? and each item took around 1 hour this was from sketch to colour which I imagine you could not reproduce to the same quality? The cost for these items for us are not present because we have a very talented illustrator on our team.
