Dominion Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 It could be that English is not his/her first language, however they have sent it in English as the sites they are mailing the notice to, and the site they are representing have both been created in English to aim at a wider audience. Quote
Paradox Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 It could be that English is not his/her first language, however they have sent it in English as the sites they are mailing the notice to, and the site they are representing have both been created in English to aim at a wider audience.I do not know what lawyers you guys dealt with in the past. But I guess the several experiences I had with lawyers were great then. I have not met a lawyer that lacks the professionalism to look over what they have written. Anyway how many Mr Wrights do you know that are not from an English speaking country? Quote
Dominion Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Well the name its self is from old English, and means “craftsman, builder” (yes that fact was from Google) you have to think about how many English people went across our empire, and adapted themselves into their culture. So many countries speak English as a second language that a few grammatical errors cannot show you if this is from a legitimate legal source. Quote
MaddDogg49 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 I typed out the letter he sent... it has all his contact ifo and signatures... This is also the 3rd letter... I have had a lawyer send him 3. But what they say im infringing is basically saying that Terry AKA Nikita AKA UCC... owns the rights to be the only MC Codes Game and owns the right to coding php in text base games Quote
Dominion Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Don't take my posts the wrong way, they have no legal standing as long as you took nothing from there site. If you did remove it, and send an apology (or just remove it, and claim nothing has change, although that would be wrong). Quote
BrowserGamesFactory Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Dominion, they have no legal ground Quote
Sun Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Im sorry to hear you had to go though all this. IN have absolutely no right to do what they did. They did as you and many more buy the right to create a game based on the engine mccodes.com created. What they did is idiotic, directly ment, as they are not the first one out there to establish this ideas and gameplay. Theyr action like the owe the idea of the functions, "crimes", "mining", "donation page" and many more function. When the truth is they only bought the scripts themself and had someone els modify them. All in all, they are really fucked up if you countersue them. I really hope you take action against them, and make them shut theyr entire game down. Most respect and regards, Sun Quote
lucky3809 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I can actually pin point one of IN's images that looks exactly the same off Second Life lol. Too funny. I wouldnt worry too much, like everyone else said they have no ground to stand on, they probably do it to everyone who may have a potential game, they probably feel intimidated by you lol. Also make sure this lawyers of theirs are REAL some people bluff and have others pretend to be their lawyer, Id be looking up them on bbb.org also searching the address for any type of bad reviews. Lilith Posted December 11, 2010 Author Posted December 11, 2010 This issue was not brought to the community here to bash on one particular game. It was not to listen to a bunch of legal advice from everyone's different opinions. It was however in fact to illustrate some of the tactics employed by certain games to rid themselves of the competition. While I have won in my situation without paying for legal representation (tho I did seek a lawyer's opinion and advice), the other game (and it's separate owner) has chosen to take further action against the offending game. This should serve not only as an awareness of what other games may do to you, but how you will be responded to by others. Lets all take a lesson from this and make sure that we are respecting other game owners / developers. Quote
